Chapter 105 - Separating the Soul

Yang Tian took out a pearl bed from his storage space and lied Ting Ting down on it. After that he produced a crystal clear lotus. This lotus, even in the Cultivation World, was known to only a select few. However at higher planes of existence like the Spirit World, it was very famous. It was called the Soul Nurturing Lotus.

When looking at it from a medical standpoint, the Multiple Personality Disorder that Ting Ting is suffering stems from the brain. However from a Cultivator's standpoint, this was because her soul had fragmented. This meant that there were two personality inside the soul and controlled it at different times.

There were two solution to this. One is two merge the two personality and the stronger one would completely take over. Of course Yang Tian wouldn't choose this method since Ting Ting's normal personality wouldn't stand a chance against the assassin one.

So the only option is number two, directly split her soul in half and destroy the assassin's soul. It sound very dangerous but with Yang Tian's strength, this was actually very easy. However after her soul is split, she won't be able to wake up anymore.

Because of this, Yang Tian planned to use the Soul Nurturing Lotus to nurture her soul until it recovers. This would take quite a bit of time but luckily her soul was week to begin with so the recovery time wouldn't be that long. According to Yang Tian's estimate, it would take no more than 3 years.

Yang Tian put his hand on her forehead and began to invade her mind. Inside a dark space without beginning or end, Ting Ting's soul was floating aimlessly. Her eyes were closed and her face was split into two. Once side was as cold as ice, devoid of any emotion. The other side showed a very youthful and cute expression.

Although she had the Soul Nurturing Lotus to protect her, the process of splitting her soul would be painful nonetheless. Yang Tian flew towards Ting Ting and said in a whisper:

- Sorry, I hope you and I will see each other soon.

As he said that, Yang Tian pulled a lotus petal and threw it towards her soul. After that he produced a sword. This sword, called Soul Annihilation, was a part of his soulbound Dharmic artifact. It was mainly used to slice through souls as well as demons and monsters.

As soon as the blade was brandished, Ting Ting's soul felt threatened. Yang Tian held his sword high and lighting slashed down. Her soul immediately split into two. From his hand a small flame flew out and the soul containing the assassin personality turned to nothingness.

At the very moment, Ting Ting only had half her soul left and it was showing signs of dissolution. One of the petals of the Soul Nurturing Lotus immediately appeared on top of her head. It made a grey light that enveloped her soul. Yang Tian sighed and then vanished.

When he opened his eyes, he softly touched Ting Ting's face:

- See you soon.

As he said that, Yang Tian was already outside the base. It was chaos inside the base as the bombs that Yang Tian and Qing Wu had planted in the beginning had already exploded. There were screams and wails constantly being emanated out of the base. Yang Tian pointed his fingers and a pillar of light enveloped the entire base.

As the light faded, it left a hole so deep that one wouldn't even be able to see the bottom. Suddenly the sand surrounding the hole was sucked into it like a river pouring down. It quickly filled up the hole. The scenery once again returned to normal.

Yang Tian looked back at the endless desert once more before turning to leave. Returning to the city, Yang Tian immediately went to Qing Wu's home but found no one. All of her belongings have been cleaned out. In the near future, Yang Tian would have no easy way to find her so he could only wait for her to come to him.

This time he didn't need to sit in a cargo hold anymore. Yang Tian was home in a blink of an eye. He hadn't used his phone in a couple of days and forgot to charge it so it was out. As soon as he went to charge it, Yang Tian saw a bunch of missed calls. He subsequently called everyone to ensure them that he was fine before calling Ye Wen Tian last.

- Do you have something urgent? You tried to call me like 100 times in the last couple of days. Is it that Blodd Devil business again?

Ye Wen Tian got the call from Yang Tian and quickly answered:

- Yes, it's him again.

- Then don't cal me again, I said that I won't be involve in this.

Yang Tian was about to hang up before Ye Wen Tian quickly said:

Hearing Ye Wen Tian's urgent voice, Yang Tian felt a bit intrigued:

Ye Wen Tian breath out a sigh of relief and thanked his lucky star that Yang Tian was interested:

- Over the last couple of days, there have been many strange cases of murder happening all over the world. The victims all had there blood drained dry. When we investigated the crime scenes, we always discovered signs of devilish qi. Not only that, we've discovered a strange type of spell formation appearing across the world. I don't know how high that Blood Devil's cultivation is but he couldn't possibly have done all of that in such a short time.

- From all of that, we deduced that the Devil Sect is behind all this. This had made all the sects and clans furious. They've united and headed to the Devil Sect to get an answer. However when they got there, the place was completely abandoned with no one in sight.

- This made all the major forces in the world very nervous and they intend on setting a meeting to discuss a plan of action. Since we were the ones that discovered the existence of the Blood Devil, they are choosing this place as the meeting place. However we have no clue about the Blood Devil so we need you to represent us.

Yang Tian heard all of that and frowned. He didn't care about the Devil Sect of the Blood Devil. The thing that got him most worried was Liao Mei's safety. If the Blood Devil and the Devil Sect was intricately linked then Yang Tian had an inkling why there was a massive amount of devilish qi inside her.

- Yang Tian, what do you think? Why aren't you saying anything.

- It's nothing. This doesn't need my representation. Just tell the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak that this was due to their negligence in the past. They'll understand.

Ye Wen Tian quickly understood the gist of the problem:

- You mean the Blood Devil is the clone of that supreme cultivator? The clone was that sealed by the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak all those years ago?

- Exactly, it was all because of them. They'll have a plan to to handle it. You guys deal with the rest.

Without waiting for Ye Wen Tian to answer, Yang Tian had already turned off his phone. He was now very worried about Liao Mei's safety so how could have the time to deal with their nonsense.

According to his estimate, that Blood Devil would still need a large amount of blood before he could recover the strength he loss due to the seal. So in the meantime, Liao Mei was safe. With her intellect, she had probably figured all of this out a long time ago. Yang Tian used his Grand Clairvoyance Spell and a blue river appeared and swirled around him.

Inside the river was countless image of humans to animals. Each were animated and lifelike beyond belief. The river subsequently flowed through Yang Tian's head and disappeared in it. Yang Tian was focused on every little detail and about 5 minutes later, the river stopped.

Yang Tian's mind was focused on the black figure that was Liao Mei. She was now hiding in a small house somewhere on the American continent and cultivating some sort of secret arts. Yang Tian continued to observe what happened during the following days and Liao Mei was still there. No one had come to find her.

It seemed that no one knew her location. With his knowledge, Yang Tian could tell that Liao Mei would have to take more than half a year before she would be able to cultivate that secret art successfully. This meant that she wasn't in any danger in the near future.

Yang Tian was about to go to her but seeing that she was safe, he stopped himself. Without anything else to do, Yang Tian went outside to get some dinner before going to an electronic store. His laptop was caught in the earlier explosion so he needed to buy a new one. After trying out League of Legends, Yang Tian was hooked. The next time they meet, he wouldn't let Ting Ting look down on him anymore.

Chapter 104 - Absolute Strength

As the large door slide open , the three quickly stood to the side. A large fume of hot smoke that was tinged with explosive smell flew out of the room. After 10 minutes, when the smoke had all but dissipate, the three slowly walked in.

The room was still covered with thin layer of smoke and there were many concaves on the wall. There were even places where the wall showed sign of melting. Yang Tian was now hugging Ting Ting tightly and reassuring her:

- It's fine, everything has pass. We are okay.

Ting Ting still had her head buried in Yang Tian's chest. Although she wasn't harmed by the explosion, she was still frightened to death. Seeing the trio walked in once again, Yang Tian cracked a smiled and his killing intent was once again emitted:

- Are you hear to offer your head to me? Good. I hadn't even thought about how I would find you if you had escaped.

The three was frightened to their core. They couldn't believe what was in front of them. Even with all those bombs, Yang Tian didn't have so much as a scratch on him. Even Ting Ting, who was behind him didn't even have a speck of of dirt on her. Are Golden Core Cultivators that powerful?

The trio wanted to flee but they found that they couldn't lift their feet. Meng Lei had a furious and frightened expression as he looked at Yang Tian:

- Yang Tian, as a person, one must know to leave an exit behind. If not don't blame me for being evil.

It was a very sudden development but Yang Tian didn't push her away. When he was still enjoying the moment, a strange creature crawled from her throat into his body. Ting Ting then immediately pushed him away and retreated backwards.

Yang Tian looked at Ting Ting - who now had a face as cold as ice and standing in the corner, and then looked at Meng Lei:

- This is the hidden ace up your sleeve?

Meng Lei and the other two didn't have the killing intent weighing heavily on them, all stood up and looked at Yang Tian smugly:

- I bet the feeling of having the Heaven Devouring Gu eating away at your body is not a pleasant feeling. It's ranked at number three on the Gu Poison list. Although it hasn't fully matured but once it gets into your body, even a Golden Core Cultivator couldn only swallow his hatred and die.

Yang Tian pretended to be in pain and tried to sit down on the only chair in the room. His face paled as he looked at Meng Lei:

- So this was your plan all along. Before I die, can you at least tell me more about it?

Meng Lei heard Yang Tian begging him and his smugness deepened. Golden Core was the apex of this world but now a dying Golden Core was begging him.

The three looked at each other and shook their heads. Meng Lei thought that Yang Tian was trying to scare them:

- What?

Yang Tian smiled and lightly stood up. His face returned to normal and he looked at them provokingly:

- Don't you feel strange? All this time had passed and with the Heaven Devouring Gu inside my body, yet I am not dead.

The three saw the scene before them and was once again frightened to death. Meng Lei said in a shaking tone:

- The Heaven Devouring Gu doesn't have any effect on you?

Without answering them, Yang Tian opened his mouth and spat out a monstrous looking bug. It had three mouths situated in three different places. Using a water orb to washed his mouth, Yang Tian shook his head:

- That was actually disgusting. Alright, now you can all die.

Meng Lei suddenly roared out:

- Ting Ting, attack.

Ting Ting, who had been standing silent on the sideline all this time, immediately brandished a pair of short sabers and charged at Yang Tian. Meng Lei and the other two didn't even pay attention to them and quickly turned to escape. Ting Ting was only a mortal so how long could she buy for them?

Yang Tian flicked his finger and a small wisp of blue qi flew right to the middle Ting Ting's forehead and disappeared. She dropped the sabers on the ground and Yang Tian immediately caught her. He once again put his hand up and three small fireball flew towards the escaping trio. Very quickly, bone-chilling scream rang out from beyond the door.

Yang Tian didn't kill them immediately. He wanted them to feel immense pain before they died. Consider it him taking revenge on behalf of Ting Ting.

Seeing Ting Ting passed out in his embrace, Yang Tian erected a barrier. He wanted to cure her disorder.

Chapter 103 - Killing Intent - Trap

Yang Tian didn't know that his foes had already known that he would be here. To be more accurate, they were targeting him from the start. Yang Tian was still following the designated route to head into the center area were all the core members of Heaven Slayer resided. According to Qing Wu's words, if he used his Body Concealing Arts and sneaked through then he wouldn't likely to be caught. However, that would be far too boring.

Standing in front of the entrance, Yang Tian kicked open the door. An explosion rang out and a large hole appeared on the door. Yang Tian examined his handiwork and nodded in satisfaction.

Walking inside, Yang Tian didn't have to wait long before a group of people came out and observed him. Yang Tian evaluated the group. There were Cultivators, Martial Artists and even some mortals amongst them. They all wielded a variety of weapons from sabers, hammers to handguns and sniper rifles. Truly a large variety of weapons. Yang Tian said out loud:

- Call your leader out here.

A person came forward, his cultivation reached late Qi Refining so he was probably a member of the Eighteen Generals:

- Who are you. Don't you know that anyone who trespassed on the lands of our Heaven Slayer organization would never get a happy ending?

As he finished his sentence, his entire body flew backwards as if he was hit by a truck. His body smashed into the wall behind him. Yang Tian dusted his hands:

The response to Yang Tian's question was a hail of bullet fire that almost lasted 5 minutes. When the dust settled, Yang Tian was still standing there picking his ear to the horror of all those present:

- Did that settle it?

Yang Tian shook his head:

- No, at that time, Qing Wu had a total of 9 heavy wounds and 37 light ones. You'll have to endure 45 more attacks.

Meng Lei made a savage look towards Yang Tian:

Yang Tian retracted his killing intent, he had calm down a bit just now:

Meng Lei shook his head:

- That depends on you. I can take you to that room but whether or not you can defuse the bombs is up to you.

The three looked at each other smugly. Yang Tian was quickly brought before a large door made of very hard composite metals. The youth typed in the password and the door opened revealing a tied up Ting Ting inside. Yang Tian immediately charged.

As he did that, the door was closed behind him. The three retreated back as far as they could. Only now did Meng Lei wiped the sweat off his forehead:

- That was truly dangerous. I didn't think he would be that powerful. Elder He, tell me, do you think his cultivation has reached Golden Core?

The elder nodded:

- It must be. Even a False Core expert wouldn't be able to emit such terrifying killing intent.

At this moment, Qing Wu had already managed to save her mother and brother. The explosion forced her to look back and said with gritted teeth:

- Yang Tian, please make it out alright.

Qing Wu didn't turn around, her strength wasn't enough. Not only that, she had to take the tracking chip off her mother and brother to prevent them from tracker her.

After a while, the three returned before the large door. Meng Lei spoke up:

- Worthy of the name strongest metal. It didn't even affected by that large explosion.

- Of course, I've heard it could even block an attack from a Golden Core expert. It's the culmination of modern technology.

- Elder He, tell me. Do you think Yang Tian is dead?

Elder He was solemn for a bit and then shook his head:

Meng Lei once again entered in the password and the door flung open once more.

Chapter 102 - Infiltration

The footstep was getting closer and closer. Yang Tian still pretended to be asleep. The person on the other side of the door stood there for a while and hesitate. In the end, the door opened to reveal Ting Ting.

She approached Yang Tian and without another word, lie next to him. Yang Tian was still pretending to be asleep. He wanted to see what she was up to. However it seemed that Ting Ting didn't have any other intentions and went straight to sleep after lying down.

After waiting for a while without any other disturbance, Yang Tian turned around and touched her:

- Why are you here?

Ting Ting blushed a bit and apologized in a small voice:

- Sorry I wake you.

- That's fine. Is there something wrong?

- I don't know why I just very lonely and I couldn't sleep. I feel safe sleeping next to you.

For whatever reason, Yang Tian felt that Ting Ting was telling the truth. It wasn't because of some secret arts, it was just his feelings. He pulled her into his embrace:

- Don't worry, I'm here. You'll never be alone again.

There was a flash of joy in Ting Ting's eyes:

- You promised?

- Of course.

With Yang Tian's confirmation, Ting Ting soon relaxed and quickly fell asleep. This was the first time Yang Tian slept next to a woman without any perverted thoughts. His head hurt. In the end, what was real and what was fake?

The next morning, Yang Tian woke up and upon seeing Ting Ting still sound asleep, he let her go and got out of bed. He opened up the window and looked up the sky:

Yang Tian and Ting Ting went back to the apartment before he told her:

- I hope what I think is going to happen won't happen.

Although he knew that his instinct is always right. This time, Yang Tian willingly let himself believed that it was wrong.

Returning to Qing Wu's house, she didn't ask him where had he been the last couple of days but gave him some tools and instructed him on how to use them:

- This is a tracking device. Within 10km, we will know each other's position.

- These are special mini bombs. Plant them in the place that I've marked on the map. There's a 10 minute detonation delay and I put some spare in there so use them accordingly.

- This is a signal jammer. Find a way to plant it at the communication hub in the command center. It'll disrupt their communication and prevent you from being seen by the cameras.

Seeing the bunch of stuff that Qing Wu gave him, Yang Tian was begrudgingly silent. If someone saw them they'd think that him and Qing Wu was going on a holiday. They were going to rescue people, wouldn't bringing so much equipment slow them down?

One can't really blame Qing Wu for being careful. This mission involves the lives of her mother and brother so she had to prepare as much as she could.

After going through the plan one more time, Qing Wu started to do a final check of their equipment. When darkness finally fell, she stood up:

Yang Tian felt as if he was in an action game. This made him very intrigued. The two went straight to the designated area, only stopping after three hours. In front of them was a vast desert that was as far as the eye can see. The nighttime temperature had dropped significantly and there was only sever cactus standing stiff in the barren wasteland.

Qing Wu signaled Yang Tian to follow and carefully moved up in a peculiar pattern. Yang Tian felt curious:

- Why don't we just go straight to the base? Why are going around and around like this?

- Alright.

Qing Wu climbed onto Yang Tian's back and held onto his neck tightly. Yang Tian felt two soft peaks touching his back but Qing Wu immediately said:

- Don't get any ideas, concentrate on the task at hand.

Yang Tian frowned, he hadn't even thought of anything yet. With Qing Wu pointing out the way, Yang Tian easily avoided all the security. The two reached a safe spot and Qing Wu jumped off from Yang Tian's back.

- Alright, now we just have to follow the plan. Go and plant the bomb at the designated place and then the jammer. When the alarm rings out, I'll charge in to save my family. Try to keep them occupied for as long as possible. However if you feel overwhelmed then get out immediately.

She once again went over the plan with him even though they had gone over them dozens of times by now. It seemed that Qing Wu wasn't calm as she seemed. Yang Tian signaled that he understood. He took out a bracelet and gave it to her:

- This is a defensive spirit artifact. Take it with you in case of emergency.

- Spirit artifact?

Qing Wu was once again shocked by Yang Tian's action. She had heard of spirit artifacts before but she had never seen one in person. Seeing her shocked impressions, Yang Tian shook his head. From Yang Tian's hands, dozens of fireballs flew towards the broadcasting tower. Multiple explosions rang out and the emergency alarms were blaring. Immediately there were many footsteps converging on the fire. Yang Tian didn't dally any longer and headed to the central area.

At this moment, a man was sitting in front of multiple surveillance screen. The screens turned black and alarms rang. He downed the glass of wine that was in his hand:

- So soon? That's fine as well, I don't think I can wait any longer. Killing a young master of a great power. Just the thought is enough to get me excited.

As he said that, he turned to the people behind him:

- Let's go. We must give our esteem guest a warm welcome.

Chapter 101 - Conspiracy

T/N: Funny story. I opened up this chapter to upload it today and saw that it wasn't finished. I swore to god that I had already finished this so I thought I must've forgotten to save it and cursed myself. Luckily I double checked on chapter 100. Turns out my dumbass accidentally put the rest of this chapter inside chapter 100.

Women are strange creature, the always wanted to ask meaningless questions. As a man in this situation, as long as one isn't too stupid, there was only one answer. Of course Yang Tian wasn't an idiot, at least not in this situation.

- I will definitely protect you at all cost.

- Is that so?

- If I, Yang Tian can say it then I'll definitely be able to fulfill it.

Hearing Yang Tian say that, although she didn't know if he was telling the truth, Ting Ting still felt happy. With her mood improved, Ting Ting suddenly remembered something and asked Yang Tian:

- Yang Tian, you must tell me. How did you know her corpse was there?

Yang Tian already knew that she was going to ask him that and he had prepared his answer.

- She told me.

- You mean the young woman.

Hearing Ting Ting said that, Yang Tian immediately snapped out of his stupor. That's right, he was a man. Hearing the confession from a woman and not replying is such an embarrassment.

Ting Ting slightly blushed and looked at Yang Tian bashfully:

- So you agree?

- Of course. A great beauty like you confessing to me, how could I say no.

Ting Ting was very happy that she got praised by Yang Tian. Leaving the restaurant, Ting Ting grabbed his arm and walked close to him. Yang Tian's body stiffened for a moment but he quickly loosened it. After all, this was the first time he had a girlfriend so being a bit unnatural was to be expected.

The two went to see different sites and landmarks. Some of those place were exclusively for couples. After a while, Yang Tian and Ting Ting went into a shop to buy some supplies for a picnic and headed to a famous park.

After picking a wide open area, Yang Tian and Ting Ting laid out the picnic blanket and set up some food. Afterwards they feasted and enjoyed the surround scenery. Yang Tian then turned to asked Ting Ting:

- Do you normally go to these types of places with your friends?

- That's...

- What's wrong, if you don't feel comfortable answering then I won't force you.

- No, no, it's just that...

Ting Ting frowned as if she was trying to remember something but can't. Her face paled a bit as she looked at Yang Tian:

- I'm not too sure. In my memory, I've been to all of these places before. However I can't remember if I went alone or with friends. Actually I'm not sure if I have any friends.

This time it was Yang Tian's turn to frown. This was very strange indeed. Ting Ting was in her twenties, there's no way that she wouldn't have any friends.

- Did your parents ever mention anything about you having amnesia? Do you remember anything from your childhood?

Ting Ting tried to remember all of that but she failed at every turn, She shook her head:

- I don't..

Yang Tian sighed, maybe she did lose her memory at some point. Yang Tian had no clue how to solve this. His medical arts was terrible. It could be said that he knew next to nothing. If she had any injuries or wounds then he could easily treat her. However Yang Tian had already checked and she had no wounds whatsoever on her body.

- No need to worry, we can ask your parents about this later.

Ting Ting could only nod. Yang Tian saw that she had lost any interest in the outing so they only sat for a bit before leaving.

When they arrived back at Ting Ting's house, it was already late afternoon. Her parents were still at work. The two took turns in the shower before retiring to their individual room.

Lying on the bed, Yang Tian began to think back on how he met Ting Ting. He felt that there were many odd detail in it. First of all, if her kidnappers actually wanted to kidnap her then how could they be so careless as to let her wake up before the plane landed. What if someone found out? Ting Ting said that she was immediately kidnapped as she got off the plane so the kidnappers had clearly planned this in advance. How could they make such rookie mistake?

The second thing was Ting Ting's parents. As soon as he got into this apartment, Yang Tian had a strange feeling. Although he couldn't quite tell what it was, he was sure that this place had problems.

The third thing was Ting Ting's reaction just now. She didn't remember her past clearly yet she never showed signs of doubt and confusion before he asked her. Why did this never came up? Did her parents not want to explain the situation to her?

The fourth and final thing was that although Yang Tian did save her life. He was also very excellent in that he was handsome, rich and talented. So her liking him wasn't something strange. However Yang Tian had a feeling that she was deeply in love with him. It'd like they've been a couple for a very long time. They've only known each other for two days so this wasn't possible.

After thinking it through, Yang Tian reached an uncomfortable conclusion. Him meeting Ting Ting and staying at her place was a set up by someone else. So what he had with Ting Ting the past few days was just a lie.

In the past, there have been many people that had plotted against him. After he was done with them, not even their bones remained. However the Yang Tian now wasn't like before. He couldn't bring himself to kill her.

After a long sigh, Yang Tian opened the window and looked at the starry sky:

- Since it was like that, I play along and act out this interesting play. I hope that you truly love me, even if it was just a little. That way I would have a reason to spare your life.

After a while, Ting Ting's parents finally came home. When dinner was served, Ting Ting knocked on Yang Tian's door:

- Yang Tian, dinner is ready.

- Coming.

He followed Ting Ting and sat at the table. The three acted normally and at this point, Ting TIng turned to parents:

- Mom, dad, I have something I want to ask you.

- What is it?

- I went out with Yang Tian today and I suddenly realized that I have no memory of my childhood. I also don't remember any of my friends. What's going on?

Ting Ting's parents' face changed a bit and after a few moment of solemn, said:

- We wanted to tell you this in time. A year ago you were in a terrible traffic accident. Although it wasn't fatal, you lost all your memories. That is why we moved here to better treat you. However there was no improvement so we had to give up in the end.

- Ok so does that mean I've forgotten all my friends and acquaintances from before?

The two nodded and Ting TIng's mother took her into her embrace. Yang Tian was sitting there, silently observing this play. He had an urge to used his secret arts to see which part they lied about and which part was the truth. However after the incident with Hua Shi Yin, Yang Tian decided not to use it anymore. He was a man of his words after all. If he said he wouldn't use it then he would definitely not use it.

Yang Tian waited until Ting Ting calmed down and tried to console her:

- Don't be like that. Forgetting everything isn't necessary a bad thing. You still have your parents and now you have me.

Ting Ting heard Yang Tian said that and felt better somewhat. After the meal everyone seemed uncomfortable and didn't say another word. They cleaned up the dishes and went back to their room.

Ting Ting's parents returned to their room and sealed the door:

- That was really dangerous. How could we forget something so important?

- It's just for a couple of days. I didn't think they would discover this so quickly.

Yang Tian returned to his room and lied on they bed. He wasn't in the mood to play games today. After some random thoughts, Yang Tian drifted into slumber. Suddenly he heard a quiet footstep and he smirked:

- Are they ready to act?
