Chapter 42 - First Time

The two then chatted for a bit with Hua Shi Yin trying to probe to powers behind Yang Tian and him doing his best to avoid the topic. Yang Tian secretly praised her, the woman was a very good talker. If not for him having no backing power, he would have been coerced by her to spill everything.

After 10pm, Yang Tian said his goodbyes with Hua Shi Yin feeling a bit regretful. She was very interested in the powers behind Yang Tian. He went home and went straight to bed, it has been a long day.

The next week went well, Qin Xue was back in class and she was welcomed back by everyone. Yang Tian sat next to her daily in a corner and chatted about a wide variety of topic. Zhou Xue Min had been very afraid of Yang Tian ever since the incident at the bar so he never once tried to get involve with Qin Xue.

Yang Tian occasionally visited Mu Wu Han's restaurant. Her attitude towards Yang Tian have changed completely, even he himself felt closer to her. If nothing changes, Yang Tian felt that with a little more time and effort, he would succeed.

Li Pan also delivered to Yang Tian some information about Ling Ya Qi and the Huang Clan. The information was lacking though, Ling Ya Qi didn't have any scandal since she debuted and most of this information was on her success and personality. The information on the Huang Clan was even more lacking, but Li Pan did manage to dig up the address in the Qing Lin District. Yang Tian planned on giving them a visit in the coming days.

That afternoon, Yang Tian had plans with Zhao Wu Xin to study at a nearby cafe. Although his true goals was to get to know her more. After a short wait, Zhao Wu Xin showed up in a normal outfit, her hair was tied in a horsetail style made her looked very young,

She entered and after a quick look around, saw Yang Tian and approached him:

- Have you been here long?

- I just got here actually. Instructor Zhao, I must say that you stunning today.

Zhao Wu Xin smiled, she had heard this a lot and didn't pay attention to it.

- Alright take out your notes and we'll get to it. I have an appointment after this so let's not waste time.

Yang Tian knew that she was very busy so he tooked out his books and notes. Zhao Wu Xin was a very passionate teacher and Yang Tian was a very fast student. He had tackled formation much more complicated than this so a bit of knowledge on economics wasn't going to stifile him.

But Yang Tian felt that the monetary system, especially the credit system of this world was very intriguing. If he could implement this in the Cultivation World, he would make a fortune.

Yang Tian had finished all 5 subjects that Zhao Wu Xin was currently teaching. She was very surprised and shook her head saying:

- I don't have anything left to teach you. You have a natural gift for studying and if you decide to go into research, I'm sure you'll be famous one day.

- Instructor Zhao, you don't need to flatter me. Besides, academia is not my thing.

Zhao Wu Xin shook her head, feeling it was a shame:

- Since I'm only teaching you for this one class, I'll return the money for the rest.

Yang Tian denied her:

- No need, what you taught me is worth more than 20 thousands so don't worry about it.

After a bit of back and forth, Zhao Wu Xin conceded but deep down she still felt a bit guilty. She was in dire need of money and didn't have any money to pay Yang Tian back. She also felt that with Yang Tian's abilities, there was no way that he couldn't keep up in class. He was definitely trying to help her.

- I'm really thankful and I'll find a way to pay you back.

- You don't have to worry about this too much Instructor Zhao. If you still want to repay me, just cook me a meal sometime and we'll call it even.

Zhao Wu Xin nodded since she had nothing better to repay Yang Tian with. Seeing that it's already 11am, Zhao Wu Xin stood up and left:

- Yang Tian, I have to go. See you later.

- See you later.

His guess is that she was going to visit her mother in the hospital. Yang Tian wanted to follow but after a second thought, he felt it was inappropriate and waited for another opportunity.

Yang Tian then took out his laptop and ordered some more food for lunch. After that he logged in to his game. There was a new server vs server pvp that came out and as the top player in his server, he had to participate to carry the other people.

In the middle of his game, Yang Tian received a call from Old Wang and thought: "Did they made a decision already?". He picked up the phone and before he could say anything, Old Wang panicked voice was heard:

- Yang Tian, you must come quickly. Yun-er can't hold on anymore.

Yang Tian was taken aback, it couldn't be that her condition flared up prematurely. Without a second thought, he raced to Old Wang's house.

Old Wang at this time held a phone in his hand and had a worried face. The frigid qi emanating from the room was so much that he can't even approach it. He only prayed that Yang Tian would show up soon.

As if answering his prayers, Yang Tian suddenly appeared right in front of him. Old Wang was taken aback, they were just on the phone 10 seconds ago, how did he get here so fast?

Yang Tian looked at Old Wang:

- I must cure her now, it might take a couple of days. In that time, no one can bother us. Don't worry, she'll definitely be fine.

Old Wang nodded:

- Alright, I understand.

Old Wang saw how powerful Yang Tian was and felt at eased. By now, he had an inkling the person that cultivated in Pure Yang mantra that Yang Tian said before was. Yang Tian saw that Old Wang understood and entered the room, shutting the door behind him.

Wang Yun's body frozen solid by the frigid qi, her face betrayed unimaginable pain. Yang Tian felt very sorry for her, who knows how much pain she had to endure.

Yang Tian approached her and a scorching qi emanated from his body to push back the surrounding frigid qi back. He let out a long sighed, his inside was a mess. He had always thought that his first would be either Qin Xue or Ye Ling, maybe even Mu Wu Han. He didn't think it would be Wang Yun. After all he had only met her once.

Although Yang Tian was a womanizer, he wanted to build a solid relationship with his women. However, there was no choice in this situation. He couldn't have let her die and trapped her soul to build another body for her, that was ridiculous.

Looking at the beauty in front of him, Yang Tian approached and undressed her. After everything was off, it revealed a white as pearl body with curves and well endowed bosom.

Yang Tian swallowed his saliva. He had lived for a long time but he was still a virgin. This was his first time so how can he not be nervous. He then undressed himself and became one with Wang Yun.

Old Wang was very impatient as Yang Tian has been in there 3 days and he hadn't heard a single sound. This is because Yang Tian was afraid of any sound leaking so he set up a noise cancelling formation.

Yang Tian didn't know that at this time, in his mansion, a beautiful woman was tied to the pillar of the house. Liao Mei's face was solemn:

- This person tried to poisoned me and you. Why didn't you let me kill her.

Su Yue Er shook her head:

- I'm guessing she's here for Yang Tian so leave her. He'll handle it.

Liao Mei nodded:

- Fine, do what you want.

After that, she returned to her room. Su Yue Er looked at the bounded woman. Her acupuncture point was sealed so she couldn't say anything. Su Yue Er didn't want to waste any words on her and also returned to her room, muttering to herself on her way back:

- Where did that bastard go when we were in closed door cultivation? He couldn't possibly be chasing skirt could he?

Chapter 41 - Cooperation

Yang Tian didn't have to wait long as 15 minutes later, Hua Shi Yin approached with a man in black:

- We should retire to my place, this place is about to close.

Yang Tian looked at his watch, it was pass 9:30pm and the restaurant closes at 10pm. He nodded and followed Hua Shi Yin out. On the way, he couldn't help but teased her:

- You are inviting me to your place this late at night. Aren't you afraid that your husband will get the wrong idea?

Hua Shi Yin said with a straight face:

- He's not here at the moment, I'm here on the orders of my father.

Yang Tian didn't say anything else. It seems that it wouldn't be easy to clarify her relationship with her husband. The three came downstairs and there was a car waiting for them. There were more men in black sitting inside the car. Hua Shi Yin gestured Yang Tian to enter.

He didn't say anything and get on the car. Yang Tian felt that these people weren't just here for her protection but rather to monitor her. The car arrived at a large mansion, situated in the middle of the district.

Yang Tian and Hua Shi Yin entered the house and as the men in black followed, she stopped them:

- We have important matters discussed, you guys don't need to follow.

A person spoke up:

- Master entrusted your safety to us and we are not to be separated from you.

- No need to remind me, father had left me in charge before we left. If anything happens I'll bear the responsibilities.

The men heard what she said and didn't refute her. They bowed:

- Then please excuse us, take care of yourself young miss.

As they said that, they looked at Yang Tian. He shrugged and thought: "What are you looking at? If I have bad intentions, do you think you can stop me?".

After they have left, Yang Tian followed Hua Shi Yin inside the house. After she closed the door, one of the men in black pulled out his cellphone:

- Master, the young miss led an unfamiliar young man back and wouldn't let us stay.

The voice from the phone said:

- Just continue to watch her from afar. No need to alarm them.

- Understood.

At a faraway place, a middle aged man sitting in front of a window put down his phone and looked to sky outside, muttering:

- Shi Yin, don't disappoint me. I'm not afraid to let you follow after your mother.

At this time, Yang Tian and Hua Shi Yin had entered the house and was sitting opposite each other. Yang Tian examined the house, it was quite spacious but there were little decors which made the house felt empty. Hua Shi Yin seemingly understood what Yang Tian was thinking and said:

- This mansion was bought by my father so we'd have a place to stay when we are here on business. It's rarely been used so the decors are quite simple.

Yang Tian didn't say anything. This place made him felt uncomfortable, as though someone is listening in on his conversation. As he stood up and walked around, Yang Tian found 7 rhombus shape devices tucked inside hard to spot places. He brought them to Hua Shi Yin:

- Come and take a look at these.

Hua Shi Yin examined them and without a word toss them into a fish tank nearby. She said solemnly:

- Those were listening devices. It seems that Hua Qi is still very wary of me.

Outside the mansion, a car suddenly appeared. There was a screeching noise coming from inside and a person had to turn off the machine. The man smiled wryly:

- It seems that the young miss has found out.

- Impossible, these are the most advance listening devices in the country and we placed them very carefully. There's no way that she could've known.

A man in black nodded:

- It must be the other youth.

- Should we inform the Master?

- No need, the master said to ignore them. We don't need to push further else the young miss would get suspicious.

Yang Tian was very intrigued by these listening devices at the same time. He was utterly ignorant of these high tech devices and resolved to consult with the people from the Dark Society in the future.

Looking at Hua Shi Yin, Yang Tian asked:

- You know who set up those listening devices?

- This house belongs to Hua Qi so you tell me who could place them here.

Yang Tian nodded:

- It seems your relationship with Hua Qi is very complicated.

- You scared?

- I truly wanted to feel defeat once more but I don't think there will be any future opportunities.

Hua Shi heard what he said and was at ease. She then said with a straight face:

- I asked you here to talk about something important. Do you want to cooperate with me this one time?

Yang Tian said impassively:

- You have to explain some more. What kind of cooperation?

- I want to work with you to annihilate Hua Qi.

Yang Tian was surprised. From the previous exchange, he could guess that their relationship was bad but he didn't think that it was to the point of death.

- Isn't Hua Qi your father?

- You don't need to worry about that, you just need to agree. After the deed is done, I'll let you manage half of Hua Qi's forces. You must know that Hua Qi is in control of 20 provinces in the entire country.

Yang Tian had a disinterested face:

- That can be discussed later, I'm more curious about your relationship with him. Tell me then I'll decided if I would cooperate or not.

- You really want to know my story?

- Knowing your partner is a very important aspect in a cooperation. You should know this better than me.

Yang Tian used a bit of knowledge that he learned from economic class. Although this guy was very lazy, he did pay attention if  he went to class. Hua Shi Yin was quiet then said:

- Fine, I'll tell you.

- I am Hua Qi's daughter with a mistress. When I was young, he killed my mother right in front of me. From then on, he has always been on guard with me. Everything I do is monitored. The only way I can get my freedom and my revenge is to kill him.

Yang Tian nodded:

- Short and sweet, I accept your proposal. However what do I get if we succeed?

- Like I said...

Yang Tian interrupted her:

- I have no interest in managing an underworld organization, the stuff with Biao Zheng Long was just me casually helping him out.

Hua Shi Yin frowned, she guessed that the powers behind Yang Tian was massive. If not then he wouldn't be so disinterested in Hua Qi's forces. However, aside from that she could think of nothing to satisfy Yang Tian.

After a moment of silent, Hua Shi Yin gritted her teeth:

- If you help me get my vengeance, I'll be your woman.

Yang Tian was surprised, although that was his goal all along, he didn't think she would get straight to the point. Yang Tian only wanted to get some small benefit from her this time. After all, killing someone like Hua Qi is more than simple for him. The person is not a good guy so Yang Tian didn't feel bad killing him.

- You sure? But I heard that you have a husband.

- Don't worry, my relationship with him was established by Hua Qi for his benefit, he never touched me. With Hua Qi gone, I'll divorce him.

Yang Tian laughed:

- Speaking of which, isn't out relationship pure for benefits? After you are done with me, I guess you'll also toss me aside, is that right?

Hua Shi Yin sneered:

- That all depends on you. If you can make me fall for you, then you don't have to worry about anything.

- No need to provoke me. But you aren't wrong, haughty women like you are very attractive to guys like me. I'll accept this deal, leave Hua Qi to me.

Hua Shi Yin was taken aback, she originally wanted to work with Yang Tian to take down Hua Qi. However seeing Yang Tian's confidence, she couldn't help but asked:

- You sure? Hua Qi's strength is not as simple as you imagine.

Yang Tian was confident:

- No worries, I'll be more than enough to take care of him.

Hua Shi Yin could only nod:

- Good, I'll return to the capital tomorrow. If you need anything, call me.

Chapter 40 - Appointment

Qin Xue heard Yang Tian's call and her cheeks brightened. However she still hurriedly approached him.

- Why are you here?

Yang Tian didn't want her to know that he was the boss of an underworld gang so made something up:

- I was invited by a friend and I had nothing to do so I came to get a change of scenery. I didn't think I'd see you here, it seems that we are fated.

- Humph, who wants to be fated with you.

Qin Xue tried to look angry but her happy face betrayed her. Yang Tian was overjoyed, it seemed that his success was near. He only needed the right occasion to seal the deal.

When the people around Yang Tian and Qin Xue saw that they were very familiar with each other, they were surprised. They were all people of high society and although they didn't know who Yang Tian was, they all knew that Qin Xue was the Qin Clan's young miss.

They way they talked were similar to that of young lovers. Some people couldn't help but gossip:

- Could it be that he's miss Qin's boyfriend?

- It might be so, didn't you here he called her Xue-er. They must be very close.

- That's impossible, she was my target. How could she become an owned flower.

- If nothing else, the fact the he's miss Qin's boyfriend is enough for me to get acquainted with him.

The surrounding chatter made Qin Xue redder and redder. Yang Tian understood and pulled her to a quiet corner. The other people got the cue and didn't continue to bother them.

Although Qin Xue was dragged around by Yang Tian, she didn't resist and let him pulled her along. The two arrived at the table and sat down to talk. As the Yang Tian was entertaining her, a voice sounded from behind him:

- Xue-er, you are also here?

Qin Xue turned around and was cheerful upon seeing the face of the person:

- Brother Wang, when did you return? Why didn't you call me?

- I just got back and have to attend this banquet in the place of my father. It's been such a long time since I've seen you Xue-er, you look even more beautiful than before.

Qin Xue was smiling and turning to look at Yang Tian:

- This is brother Wang Bao, a childhood friend of mine.

- Brother Wang, this is Yang Tian, a friend of mine.

Wang Bao extended his hand to Yang Tian and greeted him:

- Hello, I am Wang Bao.

Yang Tian also extended his hand and nodded:

- Yang Tian.

As the two retracted their hands, Yang Tian felt a small movement coming out of Wang Bao's body as though something was living inside him. Yang Tian thought: "I wonder what could it be? I've never seen something like this before"

The three chatted cheerfully and after a while, Wang Bao stood up:

- I've just returned so it's time to go back home to my parents. Xue-er, do you want to come and visit?

Qin Xue hesitated, she wanted to stay with Yang Tian but Wang Bao just returned to the country and she didn't want to reject him. After all, it's been a long time since she has seen uncle and aunty Wang.

Qin Xue looked at Yang Tian and saw him nodded:

- You go on ahead, I have business to take care of here. See you later.

Qin Xue saw that Yang Tian didn't want her to stay and felt a bit loss. She remembered that last time Yang Tian said that he was only her friend and couldn't help to question herself: "Does he only think of me as a friend?"

Wang Bao was not pleased when he saw Qin Xue asking Yang Tian's opinion but he put up a smiling face:

- Then we'll excuse ourself. See you later.

Yang Tian looking at Wang Bao and Qin Xue leaving and thought that this Wang Bao was somehow very strange but he couldn't put his finger on it. Yang Tian didn't really want Qin Xue to leave but he really did have some business to attend to. Since he arrived, there was a beauty that has been constantly sneaking glances at him.

Yang Tian recognized her in an instant. She was the host of this banquet - Hong Nian Zi. As to why she was paying attention to him, Yang Tian was not so sure. 

He also wanted to meet her, if not for anything else the fact he detected that she was still a virgin. She had been married for a year now and she was still a virgin, something must be wrong with this marriage. Yang Tian muttered:

- She's still a virgin, it seems I have break the pot and steal the flower. I haven't done this before so this is quite exciting to think about.

Yang Tian sat alone for a while and on cue, Hong Nian Zi approached him:

- Hello, may I sit?

Yang Tian smiled:

- It's your banquet, I'm sure you can seat wherever you want.

Hong Nian Zi heard that and sat down with a smile. Yang Tian asked:

- Should I call you Hua Shi Yin or Hong Nian Zi?

- You can call me Shi Yin.

Hua Shi Yin hated her surname and people who knew her all called her Shi Yin or Hong Nian Zi but few know the reason why. She let Yang Tian called her by her name to bolster their relationship. Yang Tian didn't miss this fact and nodded:

- I'll call you Shi Yin then. Now why are you coming to me? I know you've been paying attention to me ever since I got here. I'm sure it's not something as simple as getting to know me is it?

Hua Shi Yin wasn't surprised. The person behind Biao Zheng Long had to be at least this sharp so she nodded:

- You are right, I have a proposition for you and if you agree, we can meet after the banquet is over.

Yang Tian felt very intrigued:

- A date with a beauty, how could I say no to that?

Hua Shi Yin didn't betray any thoughts:

- Then please excuse me and I'll see you later. I hope you enjoy the rest of the party.

After that she immediately left. Yang Tian continued to sit and enjoy his drinks. A lot of people soon gathered around him hopping to make his acquaintance. Yang Tian knew that this was all because of Qin Xue and he cordially made conversation with them. After a while he was chatting with a group of young men, everyone was calling each other brothers as though they've known each others for a long time. A youth said:

- Brother Yang Tian, do you have any free time after this banquet? If you do, I want to invite you to a drift. (T/N: This is kinda weird as the author used a slang for car racing which the closest I've found in English is drifting)

- Drift? You mean car racing?

The youth nodded:

- That's right. If you haven't drift before, the feeling on the car is like flying. It's very relaxing. Sitting behind the wheel is...

As the youth go on about car racing, it made Yang Tian want to try a bit. The car he bought was only a regular one so he had never used it to race. However, he remembered his appointment with Hua Shi Yin and declined:

- I have an appointment later, when you are out for a drift call me.

The youth cheerfully nodded:

- Alright, I'll call you the next time I'm out.

The group chatted for a while and soon the banquet came to a close. Yang Tian bade them farewell and remained in his seat. Biao Zheng Long arrived next to him and asked:

- Young master, did you make an arrangement with Hong Nian Zi?

- You knew?

- She occasionally asked me about you in our conversation. I think she has some designs on you.

Yang Tian complimented:

- Very astute. She does have some designs on me. Bring the car back home for me, I'll be back later.

Biao Zheng Long didn't have any worries. With Yang Tian's strength, what dangers could there be. He obeyed Yang Tian and brought his men back.

Yang Tian grabbed a bottle of wine and poured himself a glass, waiting for Hua Shi Yin.

Chapter 39 - Banquet

After a while, Yang Tian and Biao Zheng Long left on their car. Biao Zheng Long gave Yang Tian a stack of documents containing detailed reports on Hong Nian Zi. It also included a picture of her.
Yang Tian looked at the picture and it pique his interest. The woman was a beauty and she looked very attractive. Yang Tian felt a shame that she was married. He then read the documents.

Hua Shi Yin, commonly called Hong Nian Zi, was the daughter of Hua Qi and a mistress. Her mother passed away when she was little. Even as a child, she had natural leadership skills and was a very proud person. Hua Qi also had a son but he only liked to indulge himself so she handled small affairs for the organization.

Her marriage was arranged by Hua Qi and was initially devoid of love. However, the relationship between the couple was surprisingly good, at least from the outside looking in.

The documents also contained some of her achievements and couple of miscellaneous facts. Yang Tian didn't pay too much attention to them.

- Hua Qi only let her be in charge of smaller affairs so he's not exactly trusting of her. Stuck in an arrange marriage yet putting up a harmonious front, such bullshit.

After a bit of contemplation,  Yang Tian set aside the documents. He had understood Hua Shi Yin somewhat, this woman was very cunning.

As the car entered the metropolitan are, it headed to the Tian Hai restaurant, it seems that every major event was being held at this place. As the pulled up to the restaurant, Yang Tian exited and said to Biao Zheng Long:

- You go on ahead, I've some stuff to tend to, I'll call you when I'm done.

Biao Zheng Long didn't say anything, bowed and led his men in. Yang Tian head to a small alley and after proceeding deep inside, entered a small cafe at the end.

The interior was a bit dark with only a dim light. There was only one employee behind the counter and an old man sitting in a dark corner. Yang Tian approached and sat down at the same table, asking:

- You deliberately radiate your presence to call me here, I hope this is important.

The elder laughed and praised him:

- You are very powerful, I've only leaked a bit of my power and an early Golden Core can't possibly detect it. It seems that the report about you are very accurate.

- No need to be talkative, just say what you want, I have things to do.

The elder knew this and didn't beat around the bush:

- I am from the Hidden Dragon Island. I am here on the order of the Island Lord to make sure that the Blood Devil Sword doesn't fall into the hand of the Devil Sect.

Yang Tian was now convinced that the Blood Devil Sword was not as simple as he thought. Even though it was a very good magical artifact, it wasn't worth all of this effort by the Devil Sect.

- It seems that the Blood Devil Sword is not as simple as I thought.

The elder nodded:

- The Island Lord didn't specify but I could tell the Blood Devil Sword contains a very big secret.

- This I know. Don't worry, I won't let the Blood Devil Sword fall into the hands of the Devil Sect.

The elder saw Yang Tian's powerful cultivation and was at ease. He reminded him before he left:

- The Heavenly Mountain Saintess and the Dark Lady are all here, so my presence is redundant. I'll take my leave. I've heard that one of the two vice leader of the Heaven Slayer is on their way here.

Yang Tian frowned:

- How do you know that they are here for me?

The elder smiled:

- To be able to make the vice leader of Heaven Slayer to personally act, aside from yourself I can think of no other. I'm guessing that you have killed people from the Eighteen General so that's why the vice leader is moving in personally.

- Thank you for the warning, I know how to deal with this.

- I only know that this vice leader is a woman. She has great mastery over poison arts. The rest is up to you.

After that, the old man disappeared. Yang Tian also left. The old man's cultivation was only at late Foundation Establishment but he handled things very carefully and discreetly.

He conveniently let Yang Tian owe him one, although it was an unecessary one, Yang Tian did still owe him. He walked back to the Tian Hai Restaurant and called Biao Zheng Long.

Biao Zheng Long at this time was drinking with Hua Shi Yin. She had an elegant demeanor and looked at Biao Zheng Long apathetically:

- Boss Biao sure surprised all of us. Out of the middle of nowhere you took over the 3 Southern province. It sure was eye opening.

Biao Zheng Long said humbly:

- It's nothing much, I'm still very lacking compare to Boss Hua back in the day.

Hua Shi Yin didn't say anything further and Biao Zheng Long couldn't guess what she was thinking. He heard his phone ringing and saw that it was Yang Tian, Biao Zheng Long answered:

- Young master.

- I am at the entrance, come and guide me up.

- I will be down shortly.

He turned to Hua Shi Yin:

- My apology, I need to go down and greet a friend.

Hua Shi Yun nodded:

- I also have to attend to the other guest.

Looking at Biao Zheng Long's departing figure, Hua Shi Yin sneered:

- So he finally arrives.

Although Hua Shi Yin invited a lot of high ranking officials to this banquet, its true purpose was to meet the person behind Biao Zheng Long. She had done her homework and while Biao Zheng Long's skills wasn't bad, it was far from enough to monopolize the 3 Southern province. Be it management skills, personal strength or financial backing, he all fell short compare to the Dark Wolf Gang.

Not to mention that the people behind the Dark Wold Gang was the Li Clan. Biao Zheng Long shouldn't have stand a chance. However, not only did he win, the Li Clan didn't respond to this at all.
The implication was clear, the person behind Biao Zheng Long was very powerful and even the Li Clan wasn't his match. One must know that the Li Clan is one of the top 3 clans in the country. Hua Shi Yin was dying to know where this behemoth came from. If she could cooperate with him then her vengeance might actually be fulfilled.

Seeing Biao Zheng Long approaching, Yang Tian asked:

- What do you think about this banquet?

Biao Zheng Long thought for a bit then said:

- It's not the Hongmen Banquet¹ but I don't think it's just a banquet to recruit the various powers out there.  I feel that they are still aiming at us in the end.

Yang Tian nodded, he vaguely felt that this banquet was aimed at him. However he wasn't too sure. Yang Tian followed Biao Zheng Long inside. 

Stepping into the place, Yang Tian felt a lot of eyes on him. After all, a person worthy of Biao Zheng Long's personal greeting was bound to have a high stature. Yang Tian whispered to Biao Zheng Long:

- No need to attend to me, I don't want to draw too much attention.

Biao Zheng Long nodded and the two separate. Yang Tian grabbed a glass of wine and stood in the corner, observing the entire room.

He originally wanted to observe for a bit but there were several people trying to make acquaintance straight away:

- Greetings, I am Chu Wu, my father is Chu Ah, the director of the police department here in Qing Lin District.

- I am...

Why he was annoyed that a lot of people were approaching him, Yang Tian responded cordially:

- I am Yang Tian.

Before anyone could say anything else, Yang Tian heard someone calling him:

- Yang Tian!

Qin Xue happily approached him. She didn't think that Yang Tian would also be here. She didn't want to be here but her father insisted that she get a change of scenery. As soon as she got here, she was surrounded by a sea of young masters so Qin Xue was feeling very annoyed. Her mood brightened as she saw Yang Tian and approached him.

Yang Tian also didn't think that he would see Qin Xue here. It made sense when he thought about it. She was the young miss of the Qin Clan and a banquet of this size cannot exclude the Qin Clan.

Yang Tian mood instantly brightened. He originally thought that this banquet was going to be very boring but with Qin Xue here, the situation could not be better.

He also waved to Qin Xue:

- Xue-er, I'm over here.

Chapter 38: Heaven Slayer

Yang Tian didn't say another word and used his spiritual sense to access his storage space. Cultivators that have reached a certain cultivation level would no longer use a storage ring but open a separate space to store their stuff. After a bit of searching, Yang Tian finally found a mantra suitable for Chu Ci. After giving him a bit of instruction, Yang Tian said:

- You can further study it on your own and come to me with any questions you have. Biao Zheng Long, let's find an empty room and I'll help you advance to Earth stage.

Biao Zheng Long rejoiced and led Yang Tian to a room at the back of the house. The interior was very elegant and reflected Biao Zheng Long's taste. He followed Yang Tian's order and sat on the bed with his legs crossed. Yang Tian put his hand on his head and impart a strand of spiritual qi.

- Focus your spirit, use the spiritual qi I gave you to break through your bottleneck.

Martial Artists cultivate inner qi and it was much weaker than spiritual qi. Biao Zheng Long was now using Yang Tian's spiritual qi to break his botteneck. Yang Tian examined Biao Zheng Long and upon seeing that everything was going smoothly, went outside. Seeing that Chu Ci was also studying his mantra, Yang Tian didn't bother him. Feeling bored, he found a room and took a nap.

When he woke up, it was already noon. He left the room and saw that Chu Ci had started to cultivate and Biao Zheng Long still haven't manage to break through. His talents were limited and without Yang Tian's help, who knows when he could've break through to Earth stage. So his current progress or lack thereof was understandable.

Yang Tian decided to go out and get lunch. There was a lot of food in the fridge but was of it was either frozen or fast food, not Yang Tian's favourite.

This place was quite far from the city so Yang Tian chose a small food outlet in the village. The food was simple but it's flavor was very good. In the middle of his meal, someone rushed inside with a panicked face:

- Owner, something's wrong, your son was chopping wood with me but he disappered. I've search the entire morning and still haven't found him.

The owner didn't say anything and rushed out. Yang Tian wasn't some busybody so he focused on his meal. After finishing, he left the money for them meal on the table and saw himself out. As he came out, Yang Tian was hit with a stench of blood. He saw a person dressed in black in the distance. Under his foot was the owner from before.

The man was drenched in blood, his eyes were wide with fright, it seemed that he was dead. Yang Tian felt killing intent directed at him and was surprised:

- You are here for me?

- Correct.

- Why kill innocent people?

- He wanted to find his son so I was kind enough to help them reunite.

Yang Tian nodded, seemingly understood. The man in black continued:

- Was it you who killed Eighteen?

- Eighteen? You mean the assassin that spied on me last night.

The man in black heard that and was convinced that Yang Tian killed Eighteen. He didn't say another word and brandish a short saber and charged at Yang Tian. Yang Tian looked the man in black in the eye. He was in the middle of charging but suddenly stopped and stood his ground with a dazed look.
Yang Tian just used an illusion spell to trapped the man in black in a dreamlike vision. He accidently let the other assassin kill himself so he won't make the same mistake again. Looking at the confused man in black, Yang Tian asked:

- Who do you belong to and who sent you kill me?

- We are the Eighteen General of the Heaven Slayer organization. We are an assassin organization that will kill anyone in world, be it a president of a country or a newborn baby. As long as the pay is right, the Heaven Slayer will do it.

- This time someone paid a large fee to have you killed. Heaven Slayer only takes the money no question ask so I don't know who hired us.

Yang Tian frowned, this became a bit complicated. Not being able to find the culprit made Yang Tian annoyed:

- What's the structure of you organization? What happens if you fail a mission?

- Heaven Slayer is the largest assassin organization in the world and our headquarters isn't even in this country. Aside from regular assassin, above them are the Eighteen Generals, the vice leaders and the leader.

- Heaven Slayer always honor its contract so when a mission fail, we will send someone more powerful to do the job until it's done.

- So you and the person yesterday was from the Eighteen General.

- Correct, I am Eleven.

Yang Tian frowned, it seemed that he was still a target since two of the Eighteen Generals has died by his hands. So who would be next? The vice leader or the leader?

Yang Tian waved his hand and dispel the illusion. The man in back backed away immediately with a frightened face:

- What did you do to me?

- Go back and tell your leader if you don't stop coming after me, I wouldn't mind wiping your Heaven Slayer organization from the face of the earth.

- How did you know?

- Scram!

Yang Tian glared at him and the man in black felt that he was standing in front of a massive monster. His clothes were soaked in sweat. He didn't say another word and fled. This person was to scary, he wasn't his match at all.

Yang Tian didn't know if the leader of Heaven Slayer would heed his warning or not. He didn't want any annoyance and wasn't so free that he could go abroad to track down an assassin organization. Of course, the other person didn't know that if push come to shove, Yang Tian will annihilate the organization without a second thought.

Yang Tian looked at the old man on the ground and heaviy sighed. This person's death was on him. Yang Tian approached a house and knocked:

- Open up, that person is gone.

There was a quivering voice inside the house:

- Who are you?

- Who I am isn't important, the owner of the stall is dead. Help me find his son's corpse and give them a proper burial. I'll leave the money by the door.

After that, Yang Tian left a large stack of cash in front of the door and left. He returned to the house and upon seeing that Biao Zheng Long still hasn't broken throught, shook his head. His talent was really terrible.

Feeling bored, Yang Tian found a laptop in the house and played games. Ye Ling wasn't online so after completing some mission, Yang Tian looked up Ling Ya Qi. He wanted to see what she looked like.

After opening the image section, what hit him was a woman with full body, a slim but attractive figure and a beautiful face. Yang Tian also read some articles about her and saw most of it was positive. She was very well liked. Yang Tian was engrossed in his research until he heard a large noise from the back of the house. Biao Zheng Long then cheerfully came inside:

- Young master, I have succeeded.

Yang Tian shook his head:

- It took you that long to break through. It seems that your talent is a step below what I initially thought.

Biao Zheng Long didn't mind it at all. He was very satisfied about his breakthrough. Yang Tian continued:

- It's getting late, go and prepare. We are going to Hong Nian Zi's banquet.

Biao Zheng Long nodded and excused himself. Yang Tian laid on the bed, going to a feast was a very boring affair. He wanted to groomed Chu Ci to get more powerful so he can handle these types of things in the future.

Chapter 37 - Berserker Spiritual Body

Yang Tian chatted with them for a while before leaving. As he came home, he saw Biao Zheng Long waiting at the door. As Yang Tian approached him, Biao Zheng Long said:

- Young master, everything has been taken care off.

Yang Tian nodded:

- Good work, you've handle things nicely. I'll help you advance to Earth stage Martial Artist.

Biao Zheng Long was overjoyed and bowed respectfully:

- Thank you young master.

- Let's go to somewhere quiet. The advancement process must not be disturbed.

Biao Zheng Long heard that and turned to his men:

- You guys go back first, I have some business to take care of with the young master.

Yang Tian let Biao Zheng Long drove and he took them to the outskirt of the city. They stopped at a normal looking house in a small village. Yang Tian stepped and breath in the fresh air:

- Not bad, the air is very fresh. Is this your retirement home?

Biao Zheng Long's face darkened, he was only 38 so how could he have thought about something like that.

- Young Master, this is a secret base that I've built to be a safe-house in case of emergency.

- Not bad, you've think quite far ahead. Let's go in.

Biao Zheng Long led the way and knocked twice at the door. A voice can be heard:

- Honored guess from afar, what business do you have?

As if planned before, Biao Zheng Long answered:

- Travelled far and made a wrong turn, asking for a drink to refresh.

The door opened and a youth with gigantic figure walked out. The person didn't cultivate any Martial arts or Dharmic arts but Yang Tian can sensed a massive force emanating from his body. Just from this alone, his power is no less than a late Earth stage Martial Artist.

 After Yang Tian and Biao Zheng Long sat down, the youth asked:

- Boss, what's the occassion?

Biao Zheng Long looked at Yang Tian:

- Xiao Ci, let me introduce you to the young master. I'm currently his subordinate.

The youth was taken aback, Since when did boss Biao willingly serve someone else?

Not waiting for the youth's response, Yang Tian asked:

- Xiao Ci, the energy inside your body, is it from training or birth?

Xiao Ci couldn't hold in his surprise, this was the first time they had met and the man already knew of his power. Even boss Biao didn't know anything about it. Biao Zheng Long was also surprised and Yang Tian noticed:

- You don't know about this?

Biao Zheng Long was at a loss:

- I saved him on one of my trip. He was heavily wounded and was this close to death. I had to put in a lot of effort to save him so he followed me ever since. I never asked about his background.

- I didn't know you were such a magnanimous person.

Biao Zheng Long smiled and didn't say anything. Yang Tian looked at Xiao Ci:

- So can you give us some clarification?

Xiao Ci was silent and then solemnly asked:

- It's not impossible to tell you but you must promised that this won't get leaked, bad things would happen if you do.

- Not a problem.

Xiao Ci then said:

- I was a member of the Dark Society and was heavily injured on a mission. Boss Biao saved my life so I decided to stay and help him for 3 years. The time is almost up so I'm just about to leave.
Biao Zheng Long was surprised:

- Dark Society.

- You know of it?

Biao Zheng Long responded:

- I heard of it before. It's a massive organization that spans the globe. Not only that, every member has astonishing strength. Any single one of them could wipe out an underworld gang.

Yang Tian nodded:

- They are not that powerful, but very close. I can even tell you that they are that strong because most of them are Cultivators.

This time, it was Xiao Ci's turn to be surprised:

- You also know about the Dark Society?

Yang TIan didn't say anything and produced his identification. He threw it to Xiao Ci. Meanwhile Biao Zheng Long was in the dark, this was the first time he had heard of the word Cultivator. Yang Tian saw that and explained:

- Cultivators are those born with special constitution that differs from normal people. They can practice special Dharmic technique and mantras. It's quite similar to Martial Artists but much much more powerful.

Biao Zheng Long quickly asked:

- Can I cultivate these arts?

Yang Tian shook his head:

- You don't have a spirit root and cannot cultivate.

Biao Zheng Long felt bitter. In his eyes, Yang Tian's strength was definitely from him being a Cultivator and not a Heaven stage expert like he thought. Yang Tian continued:

- No need to feel bitter, as long as you breakthrough to Heaven stage, your strength would not be inferior to the majority of Cultivator.

Heaven stage expert was the equivalent of Foundation Establishment Cultivator. As for Golden Core expert, they were the apex of this world and Biao Zheng Long would not have the opportunity to be in contact with them. Biao Zheng Long turned joyful, what Yang Tian implied was that he would help him breakthrough to Heaven stage.

- I can breakthrough to Heaven stage?

Yang Tian nodded:

- That's right, as long as you continue to do good work for me, I'll help you become a Heaven stage expert.

Meanwhile, Xiao Ci was lost in thought. He was surprised that Yang Tian was already a Core member at such a young age. Now he also promised to help an ordinary Martial Artist to breakthrough to Heaven stage, this was the equivalent to helping someone breakthrough to Foundation Establishment.

Yang Tian looked at Xiao Ci:

- What's wrong? Is there something wrong with my id card?

Xiao Ci quickly responded:

- Nothing, Elementary-grade member Xiao Ci reporting in.

Yang Tian shook his head:

- No need to for such frivolous formalities, just call me Yang Tian. You still haven't answered my question, where did your power comes from?

 Yang Tian nodded:

- I was an orphan and I was born with this great force and it kept growing as I got older. Although I can't cultivate, a member from the Dark Society discovered my special constitution and recruited me.

After Yang Tian heard that, he used his spiritual sense to surround Xiao Ci. He sensed an overwhelming amount force contained in the young man and said:

- It's the Berserker Spiritual Body. I've just met someone with the Frigid Ice Spiritual Body and now this. These constitution are extremely rare even in the Cultivation World, yet I've seen two in just a couple of days.

Xiao Ci was at a loss, this was the first time he had heard of the Berserker Spiritual Body. Yang Tian explained:

- You have the Berserker Spiritual Body, it's blessed with divine force. The power in your body is massive and would continue to grow in the future. As long as you can find a suitable mantra, you can become a Cultivator. Within the same cultivation, you will be unbeatable.

Berserker Force is one of the high grade spiritual qi but Yang Tian didn't mention because even if he did, Xiao Ci wouldn't understand. Berserk Force doesn't just provide massive force but it also has body augmentation effects. It also doesn't overload the body like in Wang Yun's case so Xiao wouldn't just explode. Thinking about the beautiful but cold woman, Yang Tian didn't want to bother her as she needed time to think.

Xiao Ci heard that he can cultivate and rejoiced:

- Since you said that, does that mean you have a suitable mantra for me?

- I have the mantra but you have to agree to something.

- What?

- Become my subordinate, you and Biao Zheng Long would serve directly under me.

Biao Zheng Long's abilities weren't bad but his strength was far too weak. Xiao Ci fitted the bill and with him, Yang Tian would save a lot of effort. Xiao Ci had a troubled look:

- I'm a member of the Dark Society and cannot join another organization.

Yang Tian crossed his hands:

- Don't worry about it, I'll tell Biao Zheng Long here to make you another identity, let's call you Chu Ci. I'll handle the Dark Society.

Xiao Ci mocked himself, he forgot that Yang Tian was a Core member and it would be a cakewalk for him. Thinking about cultivating and gaining immense power, Xiao Ci gritted his teeth:

- Alright, I'll be your subordinate.

Yang Tian was satisfied and turned to Biao Zheng Long:

- You can take care of his new identity.

Biao Zheng Long nodded:

- Not a problem.

- Good, from now on, I'll call you Chu Ci.

Chapter 36 - Assassin

After a long night gaming session with Ye Ling, Yang Tian told her to go to bed and did the same himself. After lying down, he sensed that someone was watching him. It wasn't his spiritual sense but instinct hone from hundreds of thousands of battles.

He immediately used his spiritual sense but found nothing. Yang Tian's current spiritual sense is only equivalent to a peak Golden Core expert and was very limited. He immediately undid part of the seal and elevate his spiritual sense to peak Nascent Soul stage. As he did that, he immediately saw someone looking at him with a high tech binocular from a skyscraper far away.

His figure flashed and Yang Tian was gone. The other person was confused as Yang Tian's sudden disappearance surprised them. He then heard a voice from behind:

- Who sent you here?

The person turned around and saw Yang Tian sitting in a chair, pouring himself a drink.

- This alcohol is not bad. Come and have a glass.

The person didn't say another word and brandished a pistol. Before they can pull the trigger however, the pistol was gone and their hand was empty. Yang Tian examined the pistol with a curious face:

- This is not bad but far too lacking if you want to kill me.

The other person couldn't help but sweat profusely. Although the intelligence report said that Yang Tian was very skilled, they didn't think that he was this skilled. The person still though that Yang Tian being here was because he knew they were coming and had a decoy in his house while he himself came here.

The thinking was a bit of a stretch since how could Yang Tian even know that someone wanted assassinate him tonight. However it was a more believable explanation than the man traversing several miles in matters of seconds.

Yang Tian didn't care about the other person's thought and asked:

- If you tell me who sent you then I can let you leave.

The other person laughed:

- You think I'll believe that?

- It's not that much of a lie. People like you, I can casually kill dozens so your death matters little to me.

- Is that so? Then let my death be a little more meaningful then.

As the sentence ended, the person revealed a bloody mouth, his face paled from what looked like poison. Yang Tian shook his head:

- I really wasn't going to kill you.

Even if someone was aiming at him, Yang Tian wasn't worried. They can do nothing to him anyhow. However having someone in the dark plotting against him made him felt annoyed. Yang Tian was too lazy to care at the moment and went back to sleep.

Next morning, as he was about to head to class, he received a call from Mu Wu Han. Her voice was shaken:

- Yang Tian, do you have any spare time? If you do can you come to my house in a bit?

Yang Tian didn't even hesitate and agree immediately. Mu Wu Han skipped school today and even called him. These two things made him felt that something was wrong. As Yang Tian approached the restaurant, the door was close. He knocked and a Mu Wu Han's voice came out:

- Who is it?

- It's me, Yang Tian.

Mu Wun Han peaked out then opened the door:

- Come in quick.

Yang Tian stepped in and she quickly closed the door. The interior was a mess, tables and chairs were scattered everywhere like someone had trashed the place. A man was on the floor, his head bleeding. Yang Tian saw him and recognized that it was a person he had seen a while back - Mu Wu Han's father.

Mu Wu Han was in distressed and couldn't think straight. He came this morning to thank her for her blood and to give her some money. She refused the money vehemently and eventually the two started to argue. He then laid his hands on her mother and in her anger, Mu Wu Han smashed a chair on his head and knocked him out cold.

Mu Wu Han and her mother was shunned by their family and only relied on each other to survival without any close relative. So the first person that came to her mind was Yang Tian. She was scared as she looked at Yang Tian:

- What do I do? I didn't mean to.

Yang Tian looked at her, thinking that although she put out a very tough exterior, she still needed someone to rely on. He softly patted her back to calm her:

- It's fine, I'll take care of everything.

He took out his phone and call Biao Zheng Long:

- Bring a couple of your boys and come to...

5 minutes later, Biao Zheng Long had already arrived, his efficiency is apparently not bad. Yang Tian opened the door for Biao Zheng Long and his men. He then pointed to the person on the ground:

- Take him away and make it looks like a traffic accident. Can you do that?

Biao Zheng Long nodded:

- Don't worry young master, it will be done.

After that, he and his men carried Mu Wu Han's father out and wipe the room clean of evidence.  They were very adept at handling these types of things.

After Biao Zheng Long left, Mu Wu Han turned and ask Yang Tian:

- They are your men?

Yang Tian nodded:

- I've said it before, I manage to made a substantial amount of money so having subordinate shouldn't be something so surprising.

- They look like people from the underworld.

This young lady's observation was spot on but Yang Tian wouldn't be caught dead admitting it:

- Nothing like that, they are highly trained bodyguard and can handle this type of stuff professionally.

Mu Wu Han breath a sigh of relief. She didn't want to think that Yang Tian was involved in the underworld. However she looked at Yang Tian worryingly:

- That person, would he be ok?

She refused to call him father. Yang Tian knew who she was talking about of course and said confidently:

- Everything's fine, I've checked him and he only had some flesh wounds. He should be ok.
Mu Wu Han was still anxious:

- Would he come back for revenge?

- Don't worry, I'll take care of everything.

Mu Wu Han looked at Yang Tian. They've known each other for quite a while now but this was the first time that she felt he was very reliable. It seemed that he can solve any problem and could be trusted. After thinking about this, Mu Wu Han blushed.

Yang Tian wasn't paying attention to her. He had erased part of that person's memory so he wouldn't remember why he passed out. As for faking a traffic accident, Biao Zheng Long had been active in the underworld for a long time and stuff that like was simple.

Yang Tian originally wanted to leave but Mu Wu Han and her mother insisted that he stay for breakfast. After all he had come all this way to help them and they can't just let him leave like that. Yang Tian happily accepted.

While mama Mu was busy preparing breakfast, Yang Tian and Mu Wu Han was happily chatting. She didn't despise him like before, rather he was quite pleasant to be around. Yang Tian also used some of the "techniques" he learned recently and Mu Wu Han couldn't stop giggling.

Mama Mu had finished the preparation and the trio ate together. She felt that Yang Tian was not bad and it would be great if her daughter fancied him. She tried to ask him casually:

- Yang Tian, you looked very young, are you still in school?

He nodded:

- I attend Qing Hua university with Wu Han but I'm a year behind her.

- So young!

Yang Tian felt that she was probing him and tried to show off in front of this potential future mother-in-law:

- I rarely come to class though and most of the time, I work outside.

She was intrigued:

- Where do you work then?

- I work in a variety of fields. Currently I'm preparing to open a fashion company.

- You are opening your own company? That must have taken a lot of capital.

- I've managed to accumulate a decent amount of money over the years.

Mama Mu felt that this person was more and more attractive. He's opening his own company despite being so young and his future prospect are boundless. Mu Wu Han was also surprised, she didn't think Yang Tian was that excellent.

Yang Tian saw the two's reaction and was smiling inside: "Biao Zheng Long, looks like he has inadvertently helped me this time. I should reward him when I get back".
