Yang Tian visited a restaurant near his house and went home after a light dinner. Today was the last day of the Pantheon Event. Yang Tian would have his first match at 6pm.
Looking at the bracket, Yang Tian saw that only 13 people reached 4th rank. However according to the global power ranking, there were a total of 16 4th ranker. That must mean that 3 people were eliminated in the previous round. Yang Tian directly advanced to the top 64 and his first opponent was only someone at the 3rd rank. Without wasting too much time, Yang Tian used his absolute power to crushed his opponent.
The next two match played out the same, Yang Tian was lucky that his opponents were two third rank and he safely advance to the next round. There were only 8 people left and they were all 4th ranker. Yang Tian's current opponent was an Assassin. Although it was common knowledge that a Swordsman counters an Assassin, 4th ranker all have special skills so he couldn't let his guard down.
His opponent repeatedly used skills such as shuriken toss and toxic smoke bomb to attack or gain distance from Yang Tian. He was very annoyed by these tactics and typed in chat:
- Are you an Assassin or a Ninja?
- I fight how I like.
- Then don't blame me for being rude.
Yang Tian immediately used his flame skills that would continuously burn his opponent's HP like yesterday. He also used damage reflect skill and defense enhancing spell.
The ranged skill of the assassin didn't have high damage and the Assassin class health pool was much lower than a Swordsman. Yang Tian only stood still and let his opponent jumped around but the advantage completely belonged to him. His opponent couldn't take it anymore and used a skill to dash behind Yang Tian to execute his combo. Yang Tian caught on to this and used the Charge skill to push back the assassin and stunning him. After that he unleashed his combo.
The assassin's HP was drastically lowered and was below 15%. He immediately used a skill to fall back. His entire body then radiated black light and Yang Tian knew that he was preparing his special skill. Eight shadow clones appeared immediately and Yang Tian couldn't differentiate which one was the real one.
The eight clones then stood in a formation that surrounded Yang Tian. They were connected by a dark qi that soon formed an eight-sided star. The eight shadow clone vanished and at the center of star, a black beam of light shot towards Yang Tian. The screen flashed and then returned to normal. The assassin was down with his HP bar depleted.
Yang Tian was still left standing with his HP above 30%. Before exiting, the assassin asked Yang Tian:
- How? I didn't even know that used a skill. How did my HP bar drop to zero? Was it a special skill?
- It's because you are weak.
Of course Yang Tian didn't tell that guy the truth. Special skill was the secret weapon of a Divine Sage. How could Yang Tian easily use it? When his opponent used his special skill, Yang Tian's HP was above 70%. As far as he know, no special skill dealt more than 50% of a person's total HP so he stood still and let the other guy finished his skill. He also simultaneously used a damage reflect skill so that guy would take 30% of the damage dealt. However his health was very low so he died of his own skill. Yang Tian was confident that with a bit of thinking, his opponent would figure this out himself.
Continuing to the semi-final, Yang Tian's opponent was another 4th rank Divine Sage. However it was the kind of opponent that he hated the most - a Priest. Their damage wasn't high but they have a wide array of skills that weakened and control their enemies that was very annoying. The Swordsman class didn't have the burst damage that could instantly take down a Priest so this battle was going to be long. After 20 minutes, the Priest's HP was in the red and Yang Tian seized on an opportunity to attack. His opponent finally had to use his special skill.
A giant tree grew in the middle of the arena and Yang Tian's speed, armor and spell resistant was drastically lowered. The Priest's HP on the other hand was constantly rising. Yang Tian frowned, this person was way to troublesome. He tried to go on the offensive but his opponent easily parried and counter attacked. He also typed in chat:
- Di Wang, if you don't use your special skill then don't even dream about beating me.
- Is that so?
Yang Tian had already carefully studied all the special skills, each had its own weakness. Take Silent Time for example. Its weakness was that the duration was very short so the window to finish off the enemy was very short. As for the special skill before him, its main weakness was the great tree over there was vulnerable and it was especially weak to fire. Yang Tian had focused his attacks on that guy all this time simply to buy time for his skill to burn off the tree.
Just as what he predicted, after a while, the HP of the great tree went red and Yang Tian immediately attack it with full force. With the tree gone, the Priest tried to retreat but he wasn't fast enough and Yang Tian quickly ended him.
It was finally time for the finals and his opponent was the person he predicted - Kai, the person second on the power level ranking.
This person had the class Spearman. His attack range and damage was higher than Yang Tian but his endurance was much lower.
His skills are also very good, his attacks and movements were seamless. Coupled that with his good gear, Yang Tian was pushed to the defensive very fast. Yang Tian could only retreat and used damage reflect to defend himself. His opponent saw that Yang Tian's health was dropping rapidly and it was soon at the 30% mark. He immediately went in for his killing combo.
Yang Tian was waiting exactly for this moment. He back-stepped to stayed out of the range of his opponent's crowd control skill. After that he used Charge to stun his opponents and immediately execute his combo. The Spearman's HP weren't high to begin with and since Yang Tian had been reflecting damage, his heath was only about 70%. After suffering through Yang Tian's combo, his HP quickly fell below 20%. As soon as Yang Tian felt that he could finish off his opponent, the other guy's body illuminate brightly and Yang Tian felt a wave of damage reflected back towards him. Yang Tian immediately retreated back.
- Indomitable Battle Physique? I didn't think you'd choose this skill. No wonder you could've survived the 4th rank Dream Beast.
This skill was very powerful. It made the player invulnerable for 5 seconds and during this time, it would reflect 100% of the damage taken. The only weakness is that the duration was too short.
Kai didn't respond and quickly rushed in to attack Yang Tian. Yang Tian also didn't continue to conceal his special skill and used Silent Time. Kai was immediately frozen.
- Silent Time.
Yang Tian didn't know Kai's mood right now. The powerful Indomitable Battle Physique was heavily countered by Silent Time. Since it lasted longer, any skill that was executed would be frozen and if it was a buffing skill like Indomitable Battle Physique then it would run out in time. As soon as the Indomitable Battle Physique ended, Yang Tian immediately attacked and Kai lost very quickly.
As Kai fell down, every player's screen lit up like Christmas. A sentence popped up:
- Di Wang had obtained the Creation God title.
In the largest city of every server cluster, a statue of Yang Tian appeared. Behind his avatar, a large halo appeared. Yang Tian looked at his character in satisfaction and turned off his Supreme God Title. He didn't want to be too showy so he would only turned on the title when necessary. Yang Tian didn't even cared about the rankings of the god below him.
As he got a congratulatory from Ye Ling, she also told him that she would be moving to the city next month. Yang Tian was of course very thrilled and promised her that he will take her out once she's here. The two chatted for a while before Yang Tian went to sleep soundly.
The next two day were very peaceful. His relationship with Qin Xue and Mu Wu Han is becoming more and more solid. Even Zhao Wu Xin invited him to have a meal at her house if he was free. Of course Yang Tian didn't refuse such invitation.
It was on the third day that Yang Tian got a call from Li Pan:
- Yang Tian, today is the gathering of my clan, can I come and pick you up?
