Chapter 89 - Clan Gathering of the Li Clan

- I've told you this the other day? Don't tell me you forgot?

Yang Tian had indeed forgotten all about this. He had never cared for this in the first place. However he would never admit to this.

- How could that be, it's that it took a minute for it to come to my mind.

- I'm on my way to your house, make your preparation quickly.

Yang Tian put on some nice clothes and stepped outside. After about 15 minutes, Li Pan arrived. Yang Tian observed his car and asked Li Pan:

- Where did you rent this car?

- What rented car? This is mine.

Seeing Yang Tian's disbelieving face, Li Pan had an urge to beat him up. Luckily he managed to restrained himself, if not then he could at most be a punching bag for Yang Tian to practice.

- No need to lie like that. If you have the money to buy a car, how could you still not have a girlfriend? We've known each other for a while, I know you far too well.

Li Pan had an angry expression:

- This is a gift from one of my brothers when I got kicked out of the clan. I've never used it before until now.

Li Pan had something else that he didn't say. The implication that brother had when giving the car to Li Pan was that he should erased all hope of returning to the clan. He should become an Uber driver instead. It's not that Li Pan was afraid that Yang Tian would be furious in his stead, he was afraid that Yang Tian would mocked him if he knew. That guy always had a habit of laughing at other people's pain.

After they had been on the road for a while, Yang Tian turned to ask Li Pan:

- So where is your Clan Gathering held?

- Of course it's at the capital. The Li Clan is the largest clan in the entire country. Every year we would have a gathering for the members to mingle and report on their achievements.

- Aren't you already kicked out? How could you still attend?

Li Pan frowned, Yang Tian really knew how to kick a downed horse.

- The clan has a rule that if an expelled member has a great achievement then he could attend the gathering to report on this. That person would be granted a chance to return to the clan.

Yang Tian looked confused:

- Panzi, I succinctly remember that aside from hitting on women and selling black market information to other students, you don't have any special achievements. Could it be that you want to sell the information on beauties to those old fogeys in your clan? How could your Li Clan be so corrupt?

The car suddenly swerved to the side but luckily Li Pan regained his calm just in time before an accident happened. He looked at Yang Tian furiously:

- Bastard, can you get mind out of the gutter for a moment?

Yang Tian made an innocent looking expression:

- I'm just telling the truth. How can a loser like you produce any worth while achievement?

Li Pan clammed up, ever since Yang Tian knew that he was the Womanizing Genius, he has been constantly harassing him. Yang Tian said that it was because of him that he never succeeded in love. Li Pan only wanted to tell him that it was all because he was a dumbass. However he still needed Yang Tian's help so he could only hold it in.

After a moment of silent, Li Pan said:

- Our Li Clan is a cultivation clan and we encouraged our members to make connections with Cultivators. If I have a friend that was a Cultivator then my clan would look more favorably upon me. However everything would depend on you.

- Depend on me?

- That's right, the more powerful you are, the higher my chances of returning.

After hearing that, Yang Tian patted Li Pan's shoulder:

- Don't worry, just leave everything to me. Although you haven't help me with anything, considering our friendship, I'll help you out.

Li Pan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Yang Tian was a typical example of someone that bit the hands that fed him. He had provided Yang Tian so much important information yet he never managed to snare any beauties. It could only be that he was too stupid.

With their current speed, it would take around 5-6 hours before they get to the capital. No wonder Li Pan woke him up so early. Yang Tian immediately closed his eyes for a nap and after a while heard Li Pan's voice:

- Yang Tian, wake up, we are here.

Yang Tian opened his eyes and saw that the car was already driving into a parking lot. He felt that there were many Cultivators gathered here. Mot of them were Qi Refining Disciple but there were also many Foundation Establishment Cultivators and even some that had already reached late Foundation Establishment. It was roughly equal to a small clan at the Cultivation World.

The two were approaching the gate before being stopped by the guards:

- Who are you? Please produce your invitation.

- I am a member of the Li Clan. Why do I need an invitation.

The guard shook his head while looking at him:

- Impossible, we've never seen you before. Do you have any id card with you?

His identification card has already been confiscated when Li Pan was expelled from the family so how could he produce one now. Li Pan pretended to be mad:

- I forgot it at my house. If you make me be late then try to handle the consequence on your on.

The security guard was in a dilemma, he had received orders that if someone wasn't a member of the Li Clan then they would need an invitation to attend. Right now he couldn't confirm whether or not Li Pan was actually a person of the Li Clan so he can't just recklessly offend him.

At this point a voice rang out from behind Li Pan:

- If it isn't Li Pan? Why are you here?

Li Pan turned around, hatred flared up in his expression but it was quickly extinguished, and bowed:

- Cousin, I am here to attend the Clan Gathering.

- The Clan Gathering? You have been expelled from the clan so I don't think you have to qualification to attend.

- According to the clan rules, if I have a good achievement then I can still attend to report this.

- Ah that's right. But remember, if the achievement is not great enough then you will face severe punishment.

- That's not something you need to concern yourself with.

The young man sneered and didn't add anything further. He turned to the security guard:

- Let him in.

When Li Pan and Yang Tian were about to enter, the youth stopped them. He stood in front of Yang Tian and said:

- You can't come in.

Li Pan quickly stepped up:

- He's a cultivator and he's here as my guest.

The youth observed Yang Tian carefully and turned to Li Pan:

Yang Tian imitated Li Pan:

The youth was solemn:

Li Pan immediately came forward and separated them. He knew that with Yang Tian's temperament, he could get into a fight with that youth right then and there. However this was the Li Clan's territory.

- Cousin, we will go on ahead then.

As he said that, he dragged Yang Tian inside. The youth looked at the two with a cruel expression:

- If you don't know your place then don't blame me for being evil. Li Pan, that year you've messed up my good thing and I was going to spare you but I never thought that you had the gall to come back here. Since that's the case, let me wrap up this little debt we have.

 Yang Tian was dragged by Li Pan and inside for while but was finally let go:

- This is the Li Clan's territory. You shouldn't pick a fight with him.

Yang Tian had a disinterested face:

- So what if it is the Li Clan's territory. Just a small clan, that's all.

Li Pan heard Yang Tian's  comment and gawked at him. The Li Clan could be listed amongst the top 100 largest clans of the world, yet from Yang Tian's mouth it became a small clan. As he was about to say something, Li Pan was immediately entranced by someone, his face had a mesmerized expression.

Yang Tian saw that Li Pan was stupefied and looked towards where he was looking. He cracked a smile and said:

- So that's how it is. It seems that you are also a romantic.
