Beauties after beauties came up and Li Pan was standing beside him, holding a tray full of wedding rings. Yang Tian gave the rings to each women and said some mushy wedding vows in the process. After the ring ceremony, the entire room clapped thunderously and wished them all happiness. Yang Tian broke a satisfying smile:
- Let’s think of this as practice for the future. That guy sure is strange. This formation must have taken a bit of effort to set up yet he didn’t paired it with a killing array. Could it be that he only wanted to trap someone here?
Within the illusion array category, dreamlike arrays were the hardest to deal with. Someone who was dreaming normally can’t tell that they are in a dream until they’ve woken up. That guy had painstakingly erected such a high grade illusion array yet he didn’t include an array to finish his victims off. This wasn’t in line with his personality.
However this was a blessing since if he included a killing array, Wang Yun would’ve lost her life long ago. With her aura being so chaotic, the dream she was in must’ve been different in nature than the one he was in.
He light waved his hand and the illusion array immediately dissipate. Wang Yun was still lying on the ground and even though the array was destroyed, she was still trapped in her dream. Her face twisted and turned so Yang Tian guessed that she was having a nightmare.
A green strand of qi left Yang Tian’s finger and shot towards her forehead. Wang Yun soon became normal and her eyes slowly opened. Seeing Yang Tian next to her, she couldn’t help but be surprised and said in a small voice:
- So everything was dream? This must be some sort of illusion array then. I wonder which cultivator set it up?
Wang Yun was given a sizable amount of information on Cultivators so she knew a bit about illusion arrays. Although she was very careful when she first walked in, with such a high level illusion array, resisting with her Golden Core Cultivation was basically hopeless.
Yang Tian heard Wang Yun said that and couldn’t help but chuckled:
- You are overthinking it. I am real and not a creation of the illusion array.
- That’s right, why would the real Yang Tian be here. Wait, you said that you weren’t created by the illusion array.
Yang Tian nodded:
- That’s right. I followed the address Old Wang gave me and tracked you here. It was lucky that I did too. If I was any later, you might have been consumed by the array completely.
Hearing Yang Tian’s confirmation, Wang Yun’s eyes glowed but it soon regained its iciness. This wasn’t her personality but the effects of the Frigid Ice Spiritual Body. Wang Yun looked all over the place before asking Yang Tian:
- Did you see anyone on your way in here?
- No, I just felt your chaotic aura and rushed here.
- Can you use your spiritual sense to check if there’s anyone around here?
Since Wang Yun asked him, Yang Tian wouldn’t reject her. A late Nascent Soul Grand Cultivator’s spiritual sense emanated out. The entire mountain range was as clear as day in his eyes. After looking around of a while, Yang Tian shook his head:
- There are no living people but many dead ones.
- Is that so?
Although she had soon guessed the result, Wang Yun couldn’t help but feel sadness. These people came with her here and she didn’t think they’d die this way. She quickly regained her nerves and looked at Yang Tian:
- Do you know anything about this cave?
- This I have to investigate further. I advise that you get out of here. This place is far too dangerous.
- No, those people have died because of me. I won't let their lives be in vain.
- If you continue to stay here then your life will be in danger. The secrets of this place, let me find it in your stead.
Although she still didn't want to leave, Wang Yun was forced to realized the truth in Yang Tian's words. She was unable to pass even a single illusion array at the entrance. If she went further inside, she'd only be a burden on him.
- Such a dangerous place, are you sure you'd be fine going in alone?
Seeing Wang Yun worried about him, Yang Tian was very happy inwardly:
- Not a problem, although I'm not sure I can go all the way to the end, I'm confident in keeping my life.
- Alright, I'll wait for you at the foot of the mountain.
Wang Yuun didn't say anything else and turned to leave. Yang Tian waited until her figure disappeared from view before looking deeper into the cave:
- Let me see what schemes you still have in store.
Yang Tian finally figured out the main purpose of the illusion array. It was simply to stripped Cultivators of their cultivation. Within the illusion array, the strength of the victims would be drained bit by bit. This was the reason why Wang Yun was caught in it while the other normal people could continue to go in further.
Their bodies were all at the back of the mountain. Which means that they were killed inside the cave and then somehow their bodies were transport to the back of the mountain. The strangest part was that there were no wounds on their body. Their skin and blood were all normal. It was as if their ife force had been sucked away from them.
Yang Tian was in any hurry and slowly walked inside. Inside the cave was simpler than he had anticipated. A stone bed, a table and vase made of precious jade. Anyone that first walked in here would probably be drawn to the jade vase first. Yang Tian was no exception, he knew that the bed and the table were just distractions. They made it so that people would feel that there were no dangers within the cave. If the vase was the only thing that was in this cave then it would raise alarms.
Placing on hand on the vase, the formations within the cave stirred. From the vase, a bright circle with a six-sided star suddenly spread out and covered the entire cave. Yang Tian immediately pointed to it and whispered:
- Halt.
The expanding formation immediately stopped and Yang Tian began to examine it:
- Teleportation array. It seemed that those people were killed and then teleported out using this array. Nine Mammoth Array, this is a high grade defensive array. And this is...
This was the first time Yang Tian saw such an array, a combination array. It was an amalgamation of several different arrays. Teleportation array, Nine Mammoth Array Yang Tian understood but the rest needed further study.
The remaining formations were very complicated. Yang Tian took an hour before fully understanding them. This made him extremely unhappy. A True Immortal like him was being tested by such a minor formation. Yang Tian didn't know that this was a simplified version of one of the Life True Immortal's grand formation. Him being able to understand within an hour was already very good.
- I didn't think that this formation was used to drain the life force from living beings and then transported to another place. It seems that the bodies were then teleport out of here through a different teleportation array.
- So his true purpose here is to gather life force. Although this type of life force pales in comparison to the Immortal Life Force, it would still take a bit of effort to gather it. This is getting stranger and stranger, why would he put in so much effort to set up such a grand array before leaving?
After thinking for a while without coming to an answer, Yang Tian decided to ignore it for now. No matter what kind of scheme that guy hatched up, he had soon been killed body and soul so this wasn't a big deal. Stepping outside of the cave, a massive beam of sword qi suddenly slashed down from the sky. The cave's defensive array crumbled under its might and shattered. If not for the array taking the brunt of the strike, the entire mountain top would have been obliterated by that one sword.
Yang Tian dusted his hand and then turned to leave. Wang Yun kept her word and waited for Yang Tian at the foot of the mountain. She asked him as soon as he was down:
- How's everything?
- Inside the cave was a special type of formation used to absorb the life force of anyone entering. The illusion array before had only one purpose and that was to disperse the cultivation of any Cultivators coming in. This is to aid the absorption process of the life absorbing array. The life force that was gathered is then transported to somewhere that even I don't know.
Wang Yun heard everything Yang Tian said and her already icy face became even colder. One can even feel the frigid qi emanating from her body.
