Chapter 18 - Amusement Park

After renting a swan boat, Yang Tian and Ye Ling paddled it to the middle of the lake. There were many like them moving about. Ye Ling was excited and said loudly:

- Yang Tian, paddle faster, I want to bump into the swan ahead.

While this little lady was very energetic, Yang Tian obliged her and paddled faster. Although the speed wasn't too fast, it still caught up to the other swan boat and gently bumped it. Suddenly, there was a male voice emanating from the other boat:

- Ouch, who bumped into me?

Yang Tian looked back and saw a man with long hair, wearing women's clothing. If not for the voice, he would have thought that the person was a woman. The other person looked at Yang Tian, then Ye Ling.

- Handsome brother, why are you bumping into me? Did you finally realized that only us men can bring happiness to each other? How about ditching her and come over, there's still space.

The person said and pat the space next to them making Yang Tian's face paled. He backed off at full force while holding himself back from flipping the other boat over. Yang Tian had read about these types of people in the news but this was his first time seeing someone like that and didn't know how to handle himself. Ye Ling laughed when she saw Yang Tian fleeing:

- Ha ha, what's wrong? There's a "beauty" inviting you over, why are you running. "She" looks very beautiful.

The fact that Ye Ling stretched out the world "beautiful" made Yang Tian felt sick. He didn't take it laying down and turned to her:

- If you want I can turn around and throw you over there.

Ye Ling curled her lips:

- Nevermind, I don't think I'm that person's type.

Yang Tian also stopped talking because he knew when to picked his battle and here he was clearly at a disadvantage. Docking the boat,  Yang Tian saw that person was also docking so he took Ye Ling's hands and bolted. Ye Ling was surprised and tried to break free to no avail so let Yang Tian dragged her around with a flushed face.

After running for a while and making sure that the person didn't follow them, Yang Tian stopped. Ye Ling had her hands on her knees and breathing heavily:

- Why did run so fast, the person wasn't going to eat you.

Yang Tian stared at her, he felt that situation was even more dangerous than battle devilish cultivators. At least in the latter he'd know what to do. Ye Ling then so a crowd forming in the distance and turned to Yang Tian:

- Let's go over there, it seemss interesting.

Then not waiting for Yang Tian's response, she rushed toward the crowd. Yang Tian shook his head and followed behind. When they got their, an elegantly dressed man was using the microphone to introduced the game:

- Ladies and gentlemen, this game is very simple. It's designed to test the relationship of young couples. You both will need to climb this wall ahead of you by any means. However, you can't ask for any help or use any equipment. Whoever reached the top will win this large stuffed teddy bear. It's only 100 for each couple.

As the person was talking, he was pointing towards a large teddy bear on the table next to him. The price of the bear must more than 10 thousand, so it was 1 to 100 odds. The wall ahead was around 30 meters tall and had potruding metal pieces for climbing support. Underneath it was a large and thick matress. Yang Tian saw something like this on television once but even then they never had to climb that high, so this disqualified most females. This could be seen as a very sofisticated scame.

An excited woman couldn't hold it in and turned to her boyfriend:

- I like that teddy bear, you have to get it for me.

The young man had a pained look:

- The wall is too high, I don't know if I can climb it by myself let alone with you... Let's not do it. I'll buy you another one when we get the chance.

- You won't know if you don't try. It's only 100 anyways.

The youth had no rebuttal and had to go along with it. If there's one then there'll be others and one by one, the couples lined up to try but no one made it half way. The owner is still encouraging the couples but he couldn't hide his smug smile. Yang Tian was bored after watching for a bit and was about to tell Ye Ling to leave until he saw that that she was focused on the teddy bear.

- You like it?

Ye Ling nodded:

- I like collecting teddy bears and that I don't have that one yet. Plus it looks very nice.

Yang Tian then said happily:

- Let me get it for you then.

Ye Ling immediately shook her head.

- Even if you could climb up, I couldn't. I was just admiring it, you don't have to worry.

Even as she said that, her eyes were still glued to the teddy bear. Yang Tian didn't say another word and dragged Ye Ling to pay the fees. Ye Ling quickly said:

- What are you doing Yang Tian, I really don't need it.

Ignoring Ye Ling, Yang Tian finished paying the fees then turned around:

- Just follow my lead.

Although she didn't know what Yang Tian wanted to do, she had to sheepishly follow. When it was their turn, the pair walked up to the wall. While Ye Ling was still unsure of what to do, Yang Tian lifted her on his back:

- Hold on and don't let go.

Ye Ling was surprised by being lifted and squirmed:

- Yang Tian, put me down. It's too tall, it's impossible for you to piggyback me up.

Yang Tian was confident however:

- Calm down and trust in me.

Seeing that Yang Tian was confident, Ye Ling couldn't say anything and resorted to tugging in on his back. At the most they would only fall. Feeling something soft on his back, Yang Tian was excited. It's not the he hadn't felt something like that before but back then he wasn't interested or he was executing some scheme so the feeling was completely different. Yang Tian looked at the owner:

- I'm not violating the rules am I?

The owner was taken aback because he didn't think someone would literally carry his girlfriend up and thought: "Does he think he's Superman?". While still maintaining his smile, he said:

- Not a problem. But young man, this is a very high wall, you might get hurt if you try to climb it while holding on to someone.

Yang Tian ignored him and looked at Ye Ling:

- Hold on tight, I'm climbing up.

After he said that, he grabbed the first step and climbed up. The people around them were abuzzed:

- Whoa, so cool. I would be so happy if I was that girl.

- Even if he doesn't make it, the girl would be happy because she had someone willing to do that for her.

- You see, that guy is even carrying his girlfriend up and you don't even have the guts to participate.

The owner was pleased as Yang Tian's action have goaded the other couple into playing. At this moment, Ye Ling deeply blushed while on Yang Tian's back and she was very happy even if they failed.

As Yang Tian is climbing step by step, his attention was still on Ye Ling. He was happy seeing her blushing and smilling. Yang Tian sped up and before anyone knew it, he was close to the top. The owner and everyone else was wide eyed. Although touched by Yang Tian's action, no one thought he would actually succeed.

Yang Tian grabbed the edge of the wall and  lifted himself up. Ye Ling was still holding on to him, not knowing that they were there. Yang Tian patted her back and said:

- You should open your eyes, we are here.

She opened her eyes and looked around astonished:

- You really did it.

- Of course, you didn't believe in me?

- I...

Looking at an embarrassed Ye Ling, Yang Tian didn't pursue it any further and said:

- Alright, let's get down and get our prize.
