Chapter 13 - Qin Clan

Qin Zheng only took one look at Yang Tian then said to the driver:

- To Tian Hai Restaurant.

After that he ignored Yang Tian and closed his eyes like he was sleeping. Yang Tian looked at Qin Zheng for a moment and when the other party didn't say anything, he also closed his eyes and slept. After a while he opened his eyes when he heard Qin Zheng coughing:

- Are we already there?

Qin Zheng eyes went wide and without saying a single word and he went in. Yang Tian was slightly annoyed because Qin Zheng was obviously trying to do a power move. However since he was going to be his future father-in-law, Yang Tian held back. Stepping into the restaurant, Qin Zheng talked to the receptionist:

- I am Qin Zheng, give me your best room.

Hearing his name, the receptionist was overjoyed and tried to flatter him:

- We didn't know that President Qin was coming, our apologies. Please proceed to the 8th floor.

He nodded then signalled Yang Tian to follow. Stepping into a luxurious room, Yang Tian noticed that it had a large table, sparkling dinnerware and surrounded by a lot expensive-looking paintings and antique. Two musicians were were playing the violin, one the trumpet and another the piano. Even though he had money, this was the first time Yang Tian had been to somewhere this luxurious. After all, even if the place is pretty that doesn't mean the food is going to be good.

Yang Tian was sitting opposite of Qin Zheng who was still maintaining an aloof attitude, like Yang Tian didn't even exist. Yang Tian didn't even know what he was going to do but he didn't try to start a conversation. After 5 minutes, the food was brought in and Yang Tian quickly sampled some. They were all very good - this restaurant wasn't all looks after all. If Qin Zheng wasn't going to talk, then he would also ignore him and focused on the food. After more than 10 minutes, two people walked in - one young and one old.

Yang Tian didn't even need to look up to know that they were cultivators. The old man was at mid Foundation Establishment stage but the young one was only a late Qi Refining stage. Yang Tian suddenly understood that Qin Zheng was waiting for these two.

- Uncle Qin, did you call them to deal with me?

Looking at Yang Tian talking with a playful tone, Qin Zheng wasn't mad:

- I am Qin Zheng, not your Uncle Qin. I've seen the tapes, you are very skilled. If I'm not wrong then you are a cultivator. I called you here today to tell you to stay away from my daughter. She's not someone you can reach.

Yang Tian examined the two people that were just called:

- So they are here as a warning for me?

- I'm just showing you a bit of the Qin Clan's power so you will back off. Don't think that just because you manage to cultivate some third rate technique that you can underestimate the world. The Qin Clan's true power is not something you can comprehend.
Yang Tian really didn't like the arrogant facade that Qin Zheng was displaying:

- You said that the true power of the Qin Clan is big, but do you know the power behind me? You said I'm not a match with Qin Xue, but are you even fit to be her father? You let her be poisoned to the point that she couldn't walk and without me blocking the poison, she wouldn't even get to be in a wheelchair.

Qin Zheng was spooked, could Yang Tian really had save Qin Xue? He had sent the poison back to the clan for examination and it's a new type of poison. It's very strong and with the dosage given to Qin Xue she should've been dead. Qin Zheng had attributed her survival to luck but he didn't think that it was actually Yang Tian who helped her.

Qin Zheng's face softened a bit:

- While I'm grateful that you've helped Xue-er, I still think you should stop approaching her. She already has a fiance and his background is far more powerful than our Qin Clan. This is for your own good.

- Far more powerful? Is it a sect from the Shrouded Continent?

Not waiting for Qin Zheng's reaction, the elder behind immediately yelled:

- You know of the Shrouded Continent?

- Know it? I'm from the Shrouded Continent.

Yang Tian planned to use the Shrouded Continent to scare Qin Zheng from stopping him. He didn't plan that it would have a far greater effect. The elder immediately inquire:

- Which sect does young master hail from?

- This is not something you need to know.

After he spoke Yang Tian immediately discharge powerful pressure making the old man felt like he was a leaf before a raging storm. The elder's doubt immediately vanished. He thought: "Such a high cultivation at such a young age, he's definitely from the Shrouded Continent and he's probably have a big background." The elder then respectfully said:

- This is my mistake, I hope that you'll forgive me. If young master really likes Qin Xue then our Qin Clan gives our consent.

Qin Zheng was taken aback, he couldn't cultivate since birth so he was pushed out to handle the family businesses. With his business acumen, he managed to secure a high position in the clan but not high enough to know of the Shrouded Continent. Seeing that the elder was going to marry Qin Xue off to Yang Tian, Qin Zheng was about to protest. Seeing this, the elder waved his hand:

- My decision is final, you don't need to say anything. I'll report this back to the clan later.

Qin Zheng immediately went silent. This old man's cultivation is within the top 10 in the clan making his position much higher than Qin Zheng. He was only here for Qin Xue and not because Qin Zheng managed to call him.

After Yang Tian saw that his tactic worked, he wanted to leave:

- Well that's very good. I've some matters to attend to, we'll meet again.

He then turned to Qin Zheng:

- See you around Uncle Qin.

Not waiting for Qin Zheng to answer, he left. After all if you are going to pretend, might as well play the part. The people from the Shrouded Continent all looked down on mortals.

After Yang Tian was long gone, Qin Zheng turned to the old man. He and the young man sat down.

- I'll tell the Patriarch to cancel Qin Xue's marriage.

- What?

Qin Zheng was rattled, he thought the elder only said that to deceive Yang Tian:

- But Qin Xue's marriage...

The old man immediately signaled Qin Zheng to stop talking:

- My decision is final, there's no need to continue. There's nothing to hide, that person's clan might be large but they are nothing compared to Yang Tian. This guy is definitely from one of the four great powers at the Shrouded Continent and he probably holds a high position. Then again you wouldn't understand. Just know this, if he marries your daughter then it'll be your luck.

After sighing, he continued:

- I just worry that he's going to play around and the discard her. After all she can't cultivate. But if we stop him, the consequences are far more than our Qin Clan can handle. For that I have put your family at a disadvantage.

Qin Zheng can only sigh after the conversation. Although he didn't know how powerful the four great powers were, he was sure that they can easily destroy the Qin Clan. Now he can only hope that Yang Tian would treat Qin Zheng well.

The old man was still shaken. From what he had seen, Yang Tian's cultivation is even higher than the Patriarch - probably one step into the Golden Core stage. Even without a backing power, the Qin Clan is still far from his match. After all, regular firearms were no match for a Foundation Establishment expert, let alone someone at the False Core stage.

After a while, the elder left to report this to the Patriarch.

Yang Tian didn't even know that one word from him could cause so many problems. At this moment he was already sound asleep.
