Chapter 12 - Descending the Mountain

The elder immediately scowled and focused on Su Yue Er:

- Yue Er, you know the appearance of the devilish sword is a big deal and to conceal your movement from the other sects' higher ups I had to pay a large price, yet you still failed. You should give me a proper explanation.

As per the elder's instruction, Su Yue Er recounted everything. The more she told the story, the more interested the elder became until he couldn't held it in and asked:

- Yue Er, are you sure the other person is a late Golden Core stage expert?

- It is so, I'm already an early Golden Core. Not only that I possessed the Heavenly Mountain Sword so I'm confident even if I had to fight a mid Golden Core stage. Yet I couldn't retaliate at all in front of him.

- Yue Er, you should go an rest, I need to discuss this with the other Elders.

After Su Yue Er had left, the elder looked at the other people besides him:

- Do you have any thoughts on this situation?

The Elders heatedly debate for a moment until the elder in the front stood up.

- First Elder, what are your thoughts?

- Sect Leader, I think this is highly unusual. The Shrouded Continent have been cut off from the Cultivation World for more than 2000 years and the amount of spiritual qi have dropped drastically compared to before. Therefore the overall cultivation also suffered. Our Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak weathered through this by using our strength to seize the lion share of the cultivation resources, yet even you, our sect leader is only at late Golden Core. The man Yue Er mentioned is unbelievably young.

- You are saying Yue Er is concealing the truth.

- That is not so. Yue Er was raised by us ever since she was little, I believe she won't lie to us. Yet if that person actually exist, we must bring him to our Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak .

- You want to bring him and Yue Er through the teleportation array to the Cultivation World.

- Sect Leader, you know that only Nascent Soul expert can pass through the array to the Cultivation World, Golden Core expert basically couldn't survive the journey. Our resources are spent and I'm afraid we only have one shot. If we recruit an extra person, our chances would be higher.

The Sect Leader was solemn, the teleportation array was set up by that supreme expert to return to the Cultivation World but it's only one way. Not only that, it's useless for cultivators below Nascent Soul.
 

In the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak , no one had broken through to Nascent Soul within the last 1000 years. They were waiting for someone to finally achieve that stage and go through the array to the Cultivation World. That person would cultivate until they became a supreme expert and go back to merge the Shrouded Continent back with the Cultivation World.
 

It was a small hope but the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak has never abandoned it. After so many years, the resources were slowly being depleted yet no one has manage to break through. They willing to bet everything on Su Yue Er, hoping for her breakthrough. Now that there's a second candidate, it's even better to increase the odds.
 

Returning to the Cultivation World was the thousand years old wish of the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak and they would never abandon it.
 

After some contemplation, the Sect Leader decided:
 

- It's not a bad I idea, I approve. It's just that who would go and find him.
 

- Sect Leader, I nominate Su Yue Er. Firstly, she has already met him. Secondly, although her cultivation is high she needs more real world experience. Thirdly, Su Yue Er is very beautiful and from her accounts he seemed like a bit of a player. I think she would have a high chance of success.
 

The Sect Leader nodded:
 

- Not bad, let's settle on that.
 

After that he waved his hand and a Communication Talisman was sent out. Receiving the talisman, Su Yue Er immediately came in and heard the Sect Leader's commands:
 

- Yue Er, your task is to go descend the mountain and bring that person back.
 

- Yue Er will comply.
 

Without a second word, Su Yue Er left. The Sect Leader looked at her disappearing figure and muttered:
 

- This is our last chance, I wonder if we will succeed.
 

Yang Tian was completely ignorant of that fact that someone was aiming for him and he was having good sleep. The next day, Yang Tian went to school and at 3pm, he drove the Huan Wu hospital. He immediately head for the recovery area but before he could find Qin Xue, the two bodyguards stopped him. Yang Tian was surprised. It seemed these two have been waiting for him for a long time. As he was about to knock them out, the two guys were scared and signaled to talk:
 

- Stop, we have something to tell you.
 

- You have something to tell me? I don't recall knowing you guys.
 

- We know that you were the one who knocked us out yesterday.

 Seeing that Yang tacitly admitted it with his silence, the two continued:
 

- Although we don't know why you approached our young mistress, her father said that you should stay away from her. However if you still want to visit her then you should come and see him.
 

Yang Tian was taken aback, why would Qin Xue father wanted to see him? It didn't take long until he got the answer. Her father must not want him to visit her but since the two bodyguards couldn't stop him, he wanted to solve this face to face. Yang Tian thought about it and didn't disagree:
 

- No problem, call and tell him to bring someone to pick me up at 6pm. I trust there's no problem with me going in now?
 

- Of course not.
 

The two bodyguard quickly replied, they were afraid that Yang TIan would knock them out again. They didn't know how Yang Tian knocked them out yesterday so they were slightly afraid. Yang Tian paid them no mind as he walked in.
 

Qin Xue was reading a book by the wind. She was very concentrated and occasionally used her hands to tidied up her hair making her look extra cute. Yang Tian's arrival made her startled and looked up. She was quite pleased to see him:
 

- You've come again.
 

- Why? Am I not welcomed?
 

- No, I just thought you wouldn't come.
 

- How could that be, I said I would visit frequently. After all, it must be lonely staying here all alone.
 

- It is during the day, my parents do come by in the evening though.
 

Qin Xue seemed very energetic compared to yesterday and she was even more animated when talking. After a while, seeing that it was already 6 o'clock, Yang Tian stood up:
 

- It's getting late, I gotta go. I'll bring some games next time I visit.
 

- That's too much trouble, you don't need to come everyday.
 

- With a beauty as a friend, how can there be trouble. As long as you are not tired of me.
 

Qin Xue quickly said:
 

- Of course not, having you here is nice.
 

Yang Tian said his goodbye and then left. He immediately ran into a young man in black suit - the same bodyguard that was with Qin Zheng from before. Not waiting for Yang Tian to say anything, he said: "Follow me" and then led the way.
 

Yang Tian shook his head:
 

- What's the hurry?
 

However, he didn't say anything more and followed the young man. Upon entering an elegant looking car, he was greeted by a middle aged man in the opposite seat. It was none other that Qin Xue's father, Qin Zheng.
