Hua Shi Yin heard that and walked around while evaluating Chi Ci. As if sensing someone looking at him, Chu Ci scratched his nose and rolled around as if putting on a show. Yang Tian's eyes went wide: "Are you trying to make me lose face? You are still a Cultivator in the end, have some sense of alertness".
After looking for a while, Hua Shi Yin looked at Yang Tian:
- This is the person you chose to help me? Why does he look no different than some homeless drunk?
Yang Tian smiled embarrassingly and silently cursed Chu Ci in his heart:
- Don't let his outer appearance fool you. Compared to your father, he's much stronger.
- Is he that strong?
Hua Shi Yin was a bit skeptical. Her father was the strongest person in the Yu Long Syndicate. Even if ten experts surrounded him, they'd still be unable to harm him. She could accept the fact that he lost to Yang Tian. However if someone says that he'd lose to this drunk then it was a bit unbelievable.
Could Chu Ci have won against Hua Qi? This was an unnecessary question. Hua Qi had only just broke through to Heaven grade and was equivalent to early Foundation Establishment. Chu Ci was already a mid Foundation Establishment and he had the Berserker Spiritual Body which contained the Berserker Force. Although he was limited by his cultivation and couldn't brought out its true power, even late Foundation Establishment Cultivators weren't his match.
Yang Tian didn't felt comfortable explaining all of this so he changed the subject:
- Wouldn't this be clear once he wakes up? Ah, right, how far are you on the other stuff?
Seeing Yang Tian asked about business, Hua Shi Yin also got serious and said while sitting down:
- Those old fogeys all agreed. The way I see it, nine out of ten is that they want to find a way to split up the power. With things the way they are, they'll try to prop up my brother and ten rule the Yu Long Syndicate through him.
- So you're saying that your elder brother would be a puppet. He's willing to be one?
Hua Shi Yin sighed:
- Not just willing, he's ecstatic about it. Ever since he was young, he only cared about indulging himself and play around. He never cared for all the power struggle. The only thing in his head everyday is beauties. So a position like that would suit his purpose very well.
- A kindred soul.
Yang Tian couldn't control himself and uttered. Seeing Hua Shi Yin looking at him with a disdain look, Yang Tian quickly looked away:
- I mean, if he doesn't care for power then you could easily take over, no? After all, you can't just hand over such a large syndicate to someone useless.
- You don't understand, underworld gangs aren't rational people. As long as you have the power and bigger fists, turning white to black isn't something hard. They had all band together and said that my brother is the better candidate so what could I do.
Justice belongs to those with the biggest fists, the underworld gangs' style of operation made a lot of sense to Yang Tian. However, just to be safe, he asked her:
- Out of all those people, were there anyone that backed you?
Hua Shi Yin sighed:
- None. Hua Qi had always been on guard with me and never let me interact with them. The true strength of the Yu Long Syndicate, I don't even know a third of it.
- So you are saying that even if you take over the Yu Long Syndicate, you might not even be able to do it?
- I can do it.
Seeing her so adamant, Yang Tian could only sighed. She was far too hard headed. He didn't say anything else and dragged Chu Ci int an empty room. When that guy woke up, Hua Shi Yin would give him the mission.
Returning to his room, while Yang Tian was trying to decided whether or not he wanted to get back in game to suffer some more, he got a call from Ye Wen Tian:
- Yang Tian, are you free at the moment?
- What is it?
- Those people are all gathered at the capital. They want to meet you. I...
Yang Tian immediately interrupted him:
- You are a Division Leader, you can't just bother me with everything. Couldn't you just tell them that I'm busy and couldn't make it.
Ye Wen Tian said solemnly:
- If everything was that easy then don't you think I'd done it already? You must know what you existence means. There are all people who stands on the apex and are used to looking down on the world. Now that an existence stronger than them had shown up, of course they'd be worried that you'll affect their position.
- Because of this, they insisted on meeting you. Only when they've confirmed that you have no interest in power would they be at eased.
Yang Tian sneered:
- If I am interested, can they stop me?
Yang Tian's question took Ye Wen Tian aback. He wasn't wrong, if a Nascent Soul Cutivator wanted to do something then even if they tried to resist, it would still amount to nothing. Yang Tian saw that Ye Wen Tian had no response and continued:
- So tell those people, if I want to do something, they can't stop me. So don't worry about it too much.
Hearing Yang Tian's domineering tone, Ye Wen Tian could only smiled wryly:
- Words like that, it'd be better if you say it.
- I don't have the time.
Yang Tian was about to hang up before Ye Wen Tian's long sigh could be heard on the other side:
- Why is my luck so bad. If I have to say something like that, what if they get mad and kill me on spot? What happens then? Ling-er, father has wronged you. I have to die before I find a cure for you. You have to be careful with that guy, he's the one that pushed your father to death...
Yang Tian's face darkened, this Ye Wen Tian once again brought Ye Ling out to suppressed him. Finally, Yang Tian could only compromised:
- Alright, you don't have to bitch and moan like you are about to die. When does conference begin and how long is it?
- It's in three days but I'm not sure about the exact time.
- Good, I'll definitely be there three days later. Why did you have to give birth to such a good daughter.
Ye Wen Tian laughed and then hang up. However his face soon became solemn right after. He wasn't sure if Ye Ling's and Yang Tian's affair was good or bad. Cultivators live for a very long time. Even an early Golden Core like him could live more than 500 years. Marrying many wives for people like him were the norm. However Ye Wen Tian didn't hope that his daughter had to share with other women.
Ye Wen Tian sighed and decided to shelved this for the time being. Ye Ling had already grown up so she could decide this on her own.
After hanging up, Yang Tian threw the phone to the side and took a nap. Near the evening, Chu Ci finally woke up and Yang Tian introduced him to Hua Shi Yin. It was also a chance for her to explain tomorrow's plan with him.
Chu Ci nodded and ensure her that he would do a good job. This was probably because of his training when he was in the Dark Society. The three had dinner and then Chu Ci went back to his room cultivate. He just broke through so he needed some time to reinforce his cultivation. Hua Shi Yin also had to prepare for tomorrow's meeting so she didn't have the time to entertain Yang Tian.
Being left alone and bored, Yang Tian went online to watch some movies. He also read some romance novel to enrich his knowledge and experience.
The morning after, when Yang Tian was still sound asleep, Hua Shi Yi barged into his room and threw a bag to him:
- Freshen up and put that on. The meeting's at 7.
Yang Tian gave a long yawn and then got out of bed. Since he had been back to earth, he was becoming more and more like a true NEET. The only he cared about was eating, sleeping and playing. Being woke up so early annoyed him a bit. After finishing with his morning routine and getting dressed, Yang Tian went downstairs to find Hua Shi Yin and Chi Ci already at the table waiting for him. Hua Shi Yin thew a stack of documents to Yang Tian:
- Read this while you eat. This is the information on all the people attending this meeting. They are all people with power in the ruling council of the Yu Long Syndicate.
Reaching for a cup of milk and some bread, Yang Tian swallowed them whole. He only opened up the documents after he finished his meal. After skimming through it, Yang Tian put the documents down and smiled at Hua Shi Yin:
- The influence of your Yu Long Syndicate is a bit greater than I thought.
