Chapter 119 - Precarious Situation

Yang Tian acted sagely:

- Of course, how could I not know of such a beauty. However, you shouldn't use her to lure me in. I know that the Nan Gong Clan put her marriage up as a prize for the Resource Competition.

Seeing Yang Tian so knowledgeable, Ye Wen Tian didn't continue to be cryptic:

- You are right. However that's was before. The prizes of the Resource War are only announced when it begins. Meaning we can change it at any time before.

- You're telling me this because?

Ye Wen Tian looked at Yang Tian with meaningful eyes:

- The main goal of the Nan Gong Clan is to find a talent for their faction. Speaking of talent, who could be better than you.

Ye Wen Tian's words put Yang Tian in thoughts. This was truly the goal of the Nan Gong Clan when then issued this marriage reward. Could it be that they changed their minds and wanted to arrange this marriage to Yang Tian? This was a bit out of the blue. At least they should give him and her the time to get to know each other. After all, he's not an easy man.

Although Yang Tian was thinking that in his head, the smile on his face betrayed his intentions. Seeing Ye Wen Tian looking at him with disdain, Yang Tian quickly regained his serious face:

- Alright, we have a decent relationship so I'll give you some face and attend.

Yang Tian flipped more easily than a book. Ye Wen Tian had experienced this multiple time so he wasn't surprised.

- Then we should quickly go, the conference had already begun. You should also use your true face. Most of then have already seen it so there's no need to hide.

Yang Tian shook his body once more and he returned to his original appearance. He then accompanied Ye Wen Tian to the conference room. Standing in front of the room, he suddenly remembered something important:

- That's right, I just remembered something important.

Yang Tian rarely use the word "important" so Ye Wen Tian was immediately alarmed. After affirming that no one was around, the said to Yang Tian in a low voice:

- What is it? Did you discover a spy from the Devil Sect?

Yang Tian shook his head:

- If it was only a spy then it's nothing major. I don't even care if there are ten or twenty of them here. However I want to know if Nan Gong Bing Yun is coming. You must know that this is very sudden so I want to get to know her first. 

A sense of helplessness appeared in Ye Wen Tian's heart. If Yang Tian cared for the big picture as much as he cared for beauties. No, even if it was only one tenth then the world would be in a much better place. It's a shame...

- No, she's not.

Ye Wen Tian said that and turned to go inside. Although he guessed that she wouldn't be here, Yang Tian still felt a bit disappointed. He followed Ye Wen Tian inside.

The room was quite small and it was built using Deathwood. This type of wood was considered a regular building material but here it's different. If they can produce that much just to build this room, it seemed that a lot of effort was put in. Inside the room was round table and around it was 5 small chairs. Four of the chairs were already occupied. Ye Wen Tian guided yang Tian to his seat and then telepathically spoke to the Dark Society's President before leaving.

The representative for the Hidden Dragon Island was the old man that talked to Yang Tian before¹ so he had some familiarity with him. On the side of the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak was an elder in silver clothing. The clothing was embroiled with a mountain as well as clouds. Nan Gong Clan's representative was a middle aged woman. Her age must be higher but she only looked like a 30 years old lady.

Everyone saw Yang Tian sitting down and turned to him to try to be friendly. The President light coughed to gain attention and then started:

- If everyone's here then we shall start. Before in the earlier conference, there were many things that I haven't said. The main reason for that is we suspect a spy from the Devil Sect has snuck in.

- According to our latest source, the Devil Sect are in control of no less than 20 great clans. The Dark Society will take responsibility for letting the matter escalate to that point. However this isn't the time to be focused on that. The Blood Devil is our greatest enemy.

The Hidden Dragon Island Elder spoke up:

- From the way you are talking, it seemed that you have substantial leads on the Blood Devil. Mind sharing with everyone?

The President looked towards the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak Elder:

- Chang Mi, this matter is intricately linked with your Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak. I think it'll be better if you are the one to explain this.

The Hidden Dragon Island and Nan Gong Clan heard this and focused their attention on the elder called Chang Mi. He shook his head:

- Yin Mu, Nan Gong Xue Mei, the two of you shouldn't look at me like that. I have no clue about this matter. That Bai Ye is falsely accusing us.

Bai Ye sneered:

- Really? I'm sure you have all heard of the battle almost a thousand years ago.

Nan Gong Xue Mei heard this and frowned:

- Bai Ye, what do you mean by that? Amongst us present, the oldest is only a bit more than 600. How would anyone know about something that happened a thousand years ago. Unless...

As if remembering something, Nan Gong Xue Mei yelled out. Bai Ye nodded:

- That's right, I'm talking about the Devil Sealing War between the Shrouded Continent and the Devil Sect. One of the leader of that war was the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak.

They were all monsters that had lived hundreds of years. If they didn't understand what Bai Ye was insinuating by now then they have wasted all that time alive. The group was silent for a moment before Chang Mi said:

- You mean the Blood Devil is the devil that our Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak sealed more than a thousand years ago? Do you have any proof?

- This Blood Devil have a Nascent Soul cultivation. Tell me, if not that devil then who could it be?

Chang Mi was mentally rattled but he still kept his calm:

- That's a stupid statement. If he is a Nascent Soul Cultivator then how can all of us still be here and talking.

- If I tell you that because he was sealed all those year and his injuries haven't  fully healed, would you believe me? That's why he's been performing Blood Sacrifices and avoiding direct confrontation with us.

- That's only your speculation. How could a late Golden Core like you see through the cultivation of a Nascent Soul Grand Cultivator?

Bai Ye shook his head and looked towards Yang Tian:

- I can't but he can.

All eyes were on Yang Tian, waiting for his response. He felt all those eyes on him and nodded:

- That's right, his cultivation is still at Nascent Soul but he's heavily injured. If I'm not wrong then when he completes the Blood Sacrifice, his cultivation wouldn't just be restored but he could possibly make a breakthrough. 

Hearing the confirmation from Yang Tian, they couldn't not believe. Elder Chang Mi paled and stuttered:

- Impossible, his cultivation before the sealing was already mid Nascent Soul. If he breaks through then wouldn't that put him at late Nascent Soul? If that happens then even if we band together, we wouldn't be able to put a scratch on him.

Everyone was solemn. They understood more than anyone else the frightening power of a Nascent Soul Grand Cultivator. Conventional weapons no longer have any effects on them. Even if nuclear weapons were used, they'd be able to sense it and retreat. A direct confrontation would only lead to death.

Yang Tian felt the morale of the group plummeted before they even saw the devil and couldn't help but shake his head:

- You all don't need to be so negative. I just said that if he recovers. By my estimate, after almost a thousand years, his injuries aren't normal. He needs to do the Blood Sacrifice for at least a year before he could fully recover. If you can slow down this process then his recovery would last even longer. Until then, as long as you kill him then everything would be find.

- But even if he is injured, he's still a mid Nascent Soul Grand Cultivator. We...

- Relax, by my estimate, you only need several hundreds Golden Core attack at the same time. He can't possibly survive that.

President Bai Ye looked at Yang Tian and urged:

- You are the Guardian, can you help us this time. If not the casualties would be incalculable. If we fail then wouldn't the entire Earth be a cattle pen for him to di Blood Sacrifices?

- No.

- Why?

Everyone simultaneously shouted. Yang Tian shook his head:

- I'm busy.
