Chapter 69 - Evolve

The person looked panic:

- I don't know, she was fine when we came into her room but as soon as we got here she looked like that.

The assassin looked and Yang Tian and smiled coldly:

- You know that my specialty is poison. There are things which are non-poisonous in themselves but with the right combination can be synthesize to be a lethal poison.

- So you did this yourself. Why do you want to kill yourself so much?

- That's the only way I can choose my own fate.

Yang Tian shook his head and put his hand on top of her head. The assassin looked at him with disdain:

- No need to waste you breath, the poison has spread to my heart. If not for me being a cultivator then I'd soon be dead. Now even a Golden Core expert would have no way of saving me.

- Then do you dare to make a bet with me?

- A bet?

- That's right. If I can save you then from now on your life is mine.

The assassin shook her head:

- If I win then I die. Even if you save me, I gain nothing, you think I am a fool?

Yang Tian was silent. She was still an assassin and would be easily lured like Ye Ling. Yang Tian didn't continue to argue with her and sent a hot strand of qi inside her body.

A plum of back qi flew out from her body. The assassin couldn't take it and yelled loudly. She felt that every part of her body was burning and she couldn't endure it. After a while, Yang Tian pulled back his hand. The poison was completely expelled but the assassin had long passed her limit and passed out.

Yang Tian carried her up to the jet. Ye Wen Tian didn't say anything from start to finish and flew the jet bringing them both back.

Putting the assassin on the opposite seat, Yang Tian immediately opened his laptop to continue his gaming session. He finished half the rank up quest yesterday and the flight would take 10 hours so if he was lucky he'd finished the rest.

If any other player knew of this then they would dropped their jaw. Rank up quests for the 4th rank were very difficult because there were areas that didn't allow for partying or quests that focused on skill and not battle power. However these actually benefited Yang Tian since he was only in his server cluster that reached 3rd rank so he had to solo every quest by himself. As for skill, who had more agility and reaction than him?

Yang Tian was solely focused on his questing and luckily he managed to rank up before they got home. Now all he needed to do was to wait for his set item to arrive to register for the event.

When they got back, Yang Tian bade Ye Wen Tian goodbye and brought the assassin home. Letting her down in one of the room, Yang Tian went back to his own to sleep.

 After only a brief nap, Yang Tian got a call:

- The equipment has been sent to your character. As long as you reached 4th rank, you can use it.

- Good, I'll transfer the rest of the money.

Yang Tian transferred the rest of the money through the bank and got a call from the other side:

- We've received the money, I hope we can work together in the future.

Yang Tian turned off his phone and boot up his computer. He had already completed all the necessary quest and only needed to find the Evolution Stone to reach 4th rank. This was also the hardest quest. He needed to head to the Thousand Kings Ruin to kill bosses to get it. To advance to 4th rank one must head to the 4th floor and every boss there was far more powerful than him. Not only that he couldn't buy any buffs. The drop chance of the Evolution Stone was not even 0.01%.

Yang Tian used all his gaming skills and played from early morning to 7pm. He finally lucked out at the 131st boss which dropped the 4th rank Evolution Stone. This was his extreme luck because normally one would need to kill 700-800. There those that were really unlucky and wouldn't even get a drop after 1000 kills.

Yang Tian immediately teleported back to town to begin his evolution. After 10 minutes, the system alerted him that he had successfully evolved. Yang Tian opened his mail and took out the set item. The design of the set was very eye catching and the stats were incomparably high. To replace the wings was a halo, inside the halo was a 10 sided start and strange markings also appeared underneath his character's feet. The movement speed bonus of the halo was at least double that of the wings.

For getting the 4th rank class, Yang Tian received a random skill from the system. Since he was the first person that got 4th rank, he had the privilege of choosing a skill instead. Scrolling through 1000 different skills, Yang Tian finally settled on a skill called the Silent Time.

It was a very unique skill that allowed Yang Tian to stop the time within an area for 15 second and had a cooldown of 5 minute. 15 second sounded short but  Yang Tian believed that he only needed 3 second to lock his opponent in his endless combo.

Although he had the 4th rank class Divine Sage, his base class was still Swordsman with an average damage output. However if he got off a full combo, even if his opponent didn't die, they would be crippled. The rest of the time could be spent on finishing them off. Not only that, this skill had no counter so it was right up his alley.

After equipping the full set, Yang Tian saw the world ranking again and saw that the name Di Wang had reached number 1. Not only that, his score was almost doubled the number 2 spot. Yang Tian was very pleased, now he only needed to wait for the battleground to open for the Pantheon event. He believed that even if the other people get 4th rank, they wouldn't be his match.

He also didn't plan on telling Ye Ling this since she would soon know and would ask him herself. The hours was getting late so Yang Tian was about to go out to have dinner before he received a Communication Talisman from Su Yue Er. The content was short, he should come and see her immediately.

Yang Tian chuckled, when he went to his room earlier, he had set up a formation that blocked her from coming in so this was her solution. To waste a Communication Talisman, it seemed that she had something urgent to tell him. Yang Tian went downstairs and saw that Su Yue Er was waiting for him, her face was very serious.

- Yang Tian, Liao Mei has left.

- I know.

- I've heard that when she left, she also carried a sword with her.

- I didn't think your intelligence network was so skillful.

Su Yue Er was so angry that she felt her lungs bursting. Even since she and Liao Mei got here, the Devil Sect and the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak had left people observing the place. As soon as Liao Mei left, she was spotted. Not only that she didn't even concealed the black sword in her hand. This information was immediately  given to Su Yue Er and she went to find Yang Tian but couldn't reach him.

Who would've though that guy would bring another woman back and without saying anything went to his room and activate an array. The only thing she could do is to wait outside for him. Su Yue Er was shouted:

- What kind of benefit did she give you? Why did you give her the Blood Devil Sword.

Yang Tian shook his head:

- She didn't give me anything. She said she had to obtain the Blood Devil Sword by any means so I gave it to her.

- You...

Su Yue Er so furious that she couldn't even utter a word. Did this guy think that the Blood Devil Sword was a toy and he could give it to whoever he wanted? Not even mentioning it's frightening power, she heard that it also concealed a hidden card of the Devil Sect. If the Devil Sect made a comeback then the world would be in chaos. Not only the Shrouded Continent but even Earth would be swept in. When that happened there was no telling how many people would die.

If she didn't know how powerful Yang Tian was, she would have beaten a lesson into him. While Su Yue Er had still not calm down, there was another Communication Talisman that flew in from outside. After Su Yue Er saw the content, her face changed from astonished to frightened and then disbelief. She looked at Yang Tian:

- Yang Tian, let's set aside Liao Mei's situation for a moment. You must answer this seriously for me.

- Alright.

Su Yue Er threw the Communication Talisman to Yang Tian and said coldly:

- Is this true?

Yang Tian looked through the Communication Talisman, it contained information on his "identity":

- You only know of this now? The Dark Society had known this 3 days ago.

Yang Tian didn't know that the Devil Sect hated the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak the most so they refused to sell the information to them. The Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak had to buy it off the other powers so they were a couple of days late.

- You don't need to care about that. Just answer my question.

Yang Tian admitted it refreshingly:

- That's right, I've deliberately leaked this information. Didn't you guys want to know my background?

Su Yue Er stared unblinkingly at Yang Tian and no one knew what she was thinking, After a while she said:

- If it was like that then you must be a Nascent Soul Grand Cultivator.
