Chapter 15 - Instant Kill

The figure was a young man in a black coat with a regular looking face but his eyes betrayed looks of disdain. He waved his hands lightly and a strange aroma  permeated through the air. Everyone except Yang Tian and the old man passed out. Looking at them both, the youth said:

- Don't you know the law that cultivators cannot participate in mortal conflict? Or did you not put our Dark Society in your eyes?

The old man was worried, if the Dark Society got involved then the plan would be ruined. He pointed to Yang Tian:

- I didn't interfere, he was the only one that fought.
The youth turned to Yang Tian waiting for an answer. Yang Tian shrugged:

- Don't look at me, I don't plan to explain myself. They attacked my men so I taught them a lesson.

The youth frowned:

- Can it be that you actually don't know...

Yang Tian cut him off:

- Didn't know but even if I did I still wouldn't care.

The youth became angry:

- So you ARE looking down on our Dark Society. Do you know the consequences of violating our laws?

- No need for threats, you guys are still far from qualified. As for threatening my clan or sect, sorry to say but I'm a rogue cultivator.

The youth and the old man were taken aback. Yang Tian was very young but his cultivation is at least at Foundation Establishment, how could he be a rogue cultivator. They initially thought that he was a disciple of a large sect. The youth stopped worrying, had he known he would've simple just restrained him and not have to explain himself.

- Are you really just a rogue cultivator?

- Of course.

The youth rejoiced:

- This situation is your fault but since you are only a rogue cultivator and wasn't aware of the rules, as long as you agree to join the Dark Society, everything can be forgiven.

In his eyes, Yang Tian, who achieved his current cultivation without the aid of any organization, was definitely a genius. And the Dark Society needed genius the most. Not to mention the next Resource Competition was nearing, the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak had the Heavenly Mountain Saintess, the Devil Sect had the Dark Lady, the Nan Gong family had Nan Gong Tian, the Hidden Dragon Island, although low key, was bound to have their hidden cards. The Dark Society had some decent talents, but they paled in comparison with those geniuses.

He believed that Yang Tian was worth investing in and wasn't shy about inviting him. Yang Tian was surprised but after realizing something, he declined:
 

- Joining the Dark Society? Not interested. Whether or not you forgive me is not important. With your middle stage Foundation Establishment cultivation, you basically can't do anything to me.
The youth was shaken, he couldn't see through Yang Tian's cultivation but Yang Tian saw through his with a mere glance. Can it be that Yang Tian's cultivation is much higher than his own? He immediately refused to believe it. He was amongst the top 3 of the Dark Society's young generation, how could he accept this.
 

- Whether or not I can will be clear soon enough.
 

The youth immediately attacked, throwing out two daggers and then chanting a spell, making more than ten fireballs flew toward Yang Tian. Yang Tian was surprised, is this a Foundation Establishment cultivator? Why were his magic items and spells similar to that of a Qi Refining disciple. If not for the power of the attack far surpassing Qi Refining, Yang Tian would have thought he judged the man's level wrong.  Of course Yang Tian couldn't have known that while the Dark Society's strength is similar to the four great powers, their techniques, spells and magic items were woefully lacking. After all, all of that ultimately came from the Shrouded Continent.
 

Because of the lack technique and the fact that only those with contributions will able to get their hands on top tier technique, the youth could only learn some basic technique so his battle strength was relatively weak.
 

The old man tried to sneak away during the battle since he didn't want to exposed his identity and jeopardize the plan. However, before he could reach the door, Yang Tian flicked his finger and a small flame shot towards him. The old man was halted immediately and went ablaze. Looking back the youth's attack, Yang Tian erected a qi barrier to instantly block all of it.
 

With his attacks failed, the youth turned to the old man with a surprised face:
 

- What did you do to him?
 

- I don't have the habit of letting the tiger back to the jungle.
 

The old man screamed and was reduced to ash in mere seconds. Yang Tian turned and looked at the youth:
 

- I'm wondering how I should deal with you.

Seeing Yang Tian's stare, the young man felt heavy pressure. He surmised that Yang Tian is at least at the False Core stage, else he wouldn't have been able to casually kill the old man. With a distraught face:
 

- You and I have no grudge. I'll forget all that happened today.
 

Yang Tian nodded, he thought the youth was a smart man. As he was turning around to check on Biao Zheng Long and his men, the youth called out:
 

- You should be careful, I've been watching that person for some time and he's from the Li Clan.  After you kill one of their own, they won't leave you alone.
 

- I'll deal with it.
 

The youth didn't waste any more words and immediately disappeared. Yang Tian neutralized the sleeping potion for Biao Zheng Long's group then quickly said:
 

- Clean all of this up, I need to tend to some stuff.

Biao Zheng Long was still in a dazed and was about to ask some until Yang Tian stopped him:
 

- What happened today cannot be leaked out else you'll have to face the consequences on your own.
 

After that, he left without waiting for Biao Zheng Long's response. Biao Zheng Long quickly had his men take care of the passed out people.
 

Yang Tian was already on the street and looked to the distant.
 

- It looks like trouble is brewing.
 

He knew that the Li Clan would not let this go and the Dark Society wouldn't turn a blind eye to him either. However, Yang Tian still didn't kill the youth since he's not a bloodthirsty killer and the two had no enmity.
 

Thinking of what's to come, Yang Tian disappeared in the darkness of the night. He needed to prepare for a bit since Jingshen Beauty was about to visit.
