Chapter 76 - Blood Sucking Demon?

The event would start tonight and the first quest was to pass the Dark Forest. There were many dangerous beasts residing in this place. They were not only high leveled but also spawn in groups. It was also an open pvp area so players can also attack each other. Yang Tian's server cluster only had him as participant which meant that everyone else was essentially his enemy.

Everyone only had one life so if you were eliminated then you can't respawn back in. Yang Tian looked at the participant list. There were more than 1000 people participating with more than 950 people reaching 3rd rank and around 50 people at 4th rank. It seemed that that time was too short so there were few 4th rank.

After closely examining the map once more, Yang Tian decided to approach from the water. There were few that would choose this route since there were water monsters hiding in the water and they were much more dangerous than the land monsters. Yang Tian had the best flying gear with very high speed so not many monsters can catch up to him. This was why he wasn't too worried. He didn't want to encounter other players too much for fear of information leaking.

Yang Tian's calculations weren't wrong but the other 4th rank also thought of the same thing. The majority of the 4th rankers also chose the water path to avoid other players. The inevitable conclusion was that they all ran into each other.

Yang Tian was now faced off against another 4th rank. This guy still had 3rd rank equipment however. It seemed that he got help with his advancement quest. Yang Tian didn't know that to reach 4th rank in such a short amount, none of these guys were lacking in money.

To them, the regular 4th rank equipment was even worst than their custom 3rd rank items that they were wearing. Since most of them ordered custom made equipment, the developers couldn't possibly made more than 10 sets in such a short amount of time. The person in front of Yang Tian was one such unlucky fellow. His equipment wasn't even ready when the event started so he gritted his teeth and used his 3rd rank set.

How could Yang Tian let such a weak 4th rank pass by. After all, one less opponent meant that his chances of victory would rise. Yang Tian immediately charged in and his opponent immediately started to used strange language in the chat box. Yang Tian didn't understand it in the first place and even if he did, he wouldn't stop. The gap between them was huge and the guy's HP soon slid down to the red zone.

He then used angry emotes and started to put a distance between them all the while throwing out his abilities. An enormous dark sphere appeared in the sky and slammed down to the ground. Seeing the dark sphere, Yang Tian guessed that this was a 4th rank special skill called World Annihilation.

Yang Tian almost chose this skill but changed his mind at the last minute. The area of effect of this skill was huge and the damage was massive but the cast time was far too long. One will also be completely defenseless during the cast time and can be easily eliminated.

With the opponent throwing out his killing skill, Yang Tian of course had to respect him. He immediately used Silent Time. The dark sphere slowed down then stopped completely. The other person continuously chat up a storm of strange characters. Yang Tian guessed that he was cursing him. Ignoring the dark sphere, Yang Tian immediately charged in and perform his combo. The other person's HP disappeared completely.

Silent Time was over and the dark sphere as well the caster vanished without a trace. Yang Tian also breath a sigh of relief. All 4th rank skills were dangerous. If two 4th rank simultaneously threw out their special skill, Yang Tian wasn't sure that he could deal with them.

The rest of his trip was very peaceful. It seemed that everyone saw a battle going on here and actively avoided his position. There main goal was to make it through the area and not to fight. Yang Tian finished his quest then opened up the forums to see a new post that was trending. The post had a screenshot of his and the other guy's battle. The post was in English so Yang Tian understood what it said. The title was: "Battle between Divine Sages - Rank 1 Di Wang eliminated rank 19 Nie from the battle".

The post had many comments from other players:

- It seems that Di Wang is indeed powerful.

- I've heard that he spent a couple of millions of USD to buy the best gear for the Divine Sage class. How could poor people like us compete?

- I wonder if there'll be a clip of the battle later?

Yang Tian guessed that the screenshot was provided by the publisher to promote the event. There would probably be a full clip posted later. Yang Tian didn't worry about this too much. So what if the other people know about his stats and skills.

Yang Tian was worried about something else. Just as he thought, he received a call from Ye Ling a little bit after:

- Yang Tian, you seem very powerful.

Yang Tian heard her voice and could tell that she wasn't happy:

- What's wrong with you? I don't remember doing anything to offend you.

- Humph, I haven't been on the world forums recently so I didn't know about this. You spent a couple of millions of USD to buy an item set in-game? Is your family that rich?

- I wouldn't say rich but it's enough to buy several hundreds of those item sets.

- You...

- Don't worry, no matter what happens, I have more than enough to provided for you the rest of your life. You shouldn't worry too much, it's not good for your health.

Ye Ling heard what he said and blushed profusely:

- Who asked you to provided for me. I'm not worry about you.

She immediately hung up after saying that. Yang TIan looked at the phone and smiled. This little lady was very impetuous but she was easily embarrassed. She would probably forget all about this if he teased her a bit more.

Ye Ling didn't know that Yang Tian had a lot of money. This stuff was meaningless to him. If someone told him to spend 10 billions dollars just buy a genuine smile from a beauty then he wouldn't even hesitate. As long as he wanted it, he can have all the money in the world.

After a while, a clip of the battle was posted but the ending was cut short. A special skill was the ace in the hole of every 4th rank so they couldn't carelessly leak that. At once there were many comments on the clip:

- Very powerful, Di Wang's combo was flawless. Nie was basically not his match.

- I think this Di Wang is an NPC that the devs put in. His combo execution and reaction time is not something a human could do.

- Di Wang you're so handsome. I love you to death.

Yang Tian felt a headache coming, the person haven't even met him. How would they know he was handsome? Yang Tian already forgot that in this day and age, as long as you have enough money, an 80 years old man wouldn't lose out to a Korean model.

Soon he was bored and Yang Tian went to bed. Before he could fall asleep, 10 minutes later he received a call from Ye Wen Tian:

- Yang Tian, we have an emergency. I need your help.

With Ye We Tian's position, if he said it was an emergency then it wouldn't be a small problem.

- I told you about the the cave where I got the Spirit Code, you remember?

Yang Tian immediately recalled it since he guessed that that place was very unusual. However he wasn't too concerned about it:

- I'm guessing this emergency have something to do with that?

- That's right, although we already got the treasures from that cave, the place still emanated spiritual qi far stronger than normal. Because of this, our Dark Society have monopolized the cave for our members to cultivate. The other powers didn't seem to care about it.

- Today there was an explosion deep inside the cave. When we got there, all the members that cultivated there were all dead. Not only that, it seemed that all the blood in their body have been drained.

- Alright, emanate your presence. I'll be there immediately.

Ye Wen Tian was taken aback:

- I'm currently at the capital. It's very far away...

- Just do as I say.

- Alright.

Ye Wen Tian immediately emanated his presence and Yang Tian's figure flashed as he immediately disappeared from the room. This entire situation was very strange and Yang Tian felt that it was closely related to him.
