Chapter 54 - Plot

Chu Ah was having dinner with his family before he got a call. As he saw that it was strange number, he didn't answer. He really disliked being called during mealtime. Yang Tian heard the phone cut off and felt perplexed. Could Su Li¹ have given him a wrong number?

Su Li gave him all the numbers of the high ranking official in the province so he can do his work smoothly. The person Yang Tian was calling was the director of this police department. Shaking his head in confusion, Yang Tian called again and finally the other side picked up with an annoyed tone:

- Who is this?

- You are the director if the police department in Qing Lin district of the Bei Jiang province?

- That's right, but it's Bei Jiang City. Bei Jiang had just been upgraded to a municipality², don't you know that?

Yang Tian felt that this person was very wordy. So what if Bei Jiang was upgraded to a municipality, what has that got to do with him?

- Whatever, I am Yang Tian.

Chu Ah was taken aback, was this that Yang Tian that he was asked to take care of?

- I don't know how you got this number but I can't help you.

As he was about to turn off his phone, Yang Tian continued:

- Really? It's fine that you don't know me. But you have never heard of the Dark Society?

Chu Ah froze and stuttered:

- Who are you?

- You arrested me and you don't know who I am? That's fine, I forgot to tell you that have another identity as a member of the Dark Society.

- I'm on my way.

Chu Ah quickly stood up and without a word, he got change and rushed to the police department. He wasn't too aware of the Dark Society's structure or purpose but he knew that it was a secret organization of the government. Each of its members have very high authority, far outstrip that of a director of a province like him.

Yang Tian also turned off his phone and sat with his feet on the table. He was enjoying the tea that they gave him and muttered:

- The taste is not very good. I do miss the tea that Fairy Yue Hua made.

Yang Tian was hell bent on revenge before and never gave a second thought to romance. However he was still involved with some women. He planned to return to the Cultivation World and track them down at some point. Although a long time had passes, the lowest cultivation amongst these women were at least late Nascent Soul. If they didn't meet with any misfortune, they'd surely still be alive.
Remembering the beauties that he had encountered before, Yang Tian couldn't help but space out. After who knows how long, someone rushed into the interrogation room and Yang Tian snapped back to reality. The other person looked subservient to Yang Tian:

- You are Yang Tian.

- The one and only.

- Can you show me your id?

Yang Tian nodded and gave his id to Chu Ah. After he examined to card, his body shuddered because he saw the word Core Member - Colonel General. He didn't expect that Yang Tian's position was so high. The card had special markings in the corner to prove it's authenticity.

- Subordinate didn't understand the situation and have interfered with your work. I hope Colonel General can forgive me.

Yang Tian waved his hand:

- It's fine, this was my doing. I want to leave now, can you arrange that?

- Not a problem, you can leave immediately.

Chu Ah respectfully saw Yang Tian out. The interrogator and the two policemen that apprehended Yang Tian saw that and was shocked:

- Director, who was he?

Chu Ah shook his head:

- It's top secret stuff, you shouldn't know. When you interrogate him earlier, did you do anything out of line?

The policeman shook his head:

- Nothing of the sort, he was very cooperative so I didn't need to do anything. There was something strange however.

- What's strange?

- That is...

The policeman looked like he didn't know how to say it and Chu Ah felt that it wasn't ordinary. It might be linked to any secret mission that Yang Tian was conducting. The members of Dark Scoiety rarely appear but when they do, they were usually executing some secret mission. He couldn't help but be suspicious.

Sending the other two policemen away, Chu Ah asked quietly:

- Just tell me, this will just stay between us.

- It's not actually anything big. He wanted me to answer 3 questions about Liu Li. I felt he was here pick up women.

Chu Ah was taken aback but he regained his calm after a while. With Yang Tian's position, he must be very busy. How could he have time to go and pick up women. It seemed that his current mission had something to do with Liu Li. He needed to keep an eye on her.

At this moment, Yang Tian very far away. If he knew what Chu Ah was thinking, he would have laughed out loud:

- You are overthinking it, I was there to pick up women.

Yang Tian saw that it was getting late, he called Mu Wu Han to assure her then stopped by the road for some food. He then returned home and immediate went on his computer. The server war was heating up and he had been busy all day. He didn't know if they had lost another city or not.

Yang Tian turned on his computer and logged into the game. When he saw that all the cities were still in tact, he was surprised. Were all the other server busy today? Is that why none of the cities were taken? Yang Tian ignored this and tell his server to start attacking. He didn't forget to call Ye Ling since if he forgot, the consequences would be dire.

While Yang Tian was busy with his game, at the main hall of the Devil Sect, a darkly dressed man was sitting in front of a large statue. Another person was kneeling on the ground and had a respectful tone:

- Sect Leader, there are important news coming from the Yao Clan.

- Yao Clan?

- Sir, it's the clan that Elder Yao established from before.

The darkly dressed man became thoughtful and seemingly remembered something:

- I know him, he was the one that tried to suppress the devilish qi leading to a lost of cultivation? Is he at the end of his ropes? Then bring him back immediately, if I can refine that devilish qi, my cultivation will reach another level. I might be able to condense my Nascent Soul.

He had his eyes on the devilish qi for a long time but if tried to take by force, it would reject him and he'd get nothing. Because of this, he had to patient wait until that man died and the devilish qi becoming owner-less. Only then would he be able to refine it.

The person kneeling quickly said:

- It's not that. His devilish qi has been completely expelled and his wounds are recovering.

- What?

- Sect Leader, you would understand after you see this.

He then gave the darkly dressed man an information crystal. After the Sect Leader finished, his face was solemn:

- It seems this information is true else we would have no way of explaining his appearance.

- Sect Leader, should we command the young miss to kill him? His existence would surely jeopardize our plans.

- No need, according to this, his cultivation have been passed down generation by generations. It must have reached unimaginable heights. Even our Devil Sect and the Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak are not necessary his opponents.

- So how should we handle this? The Blood Devil Sword is still in his hands, if...

- I have my ways, you don't need to worry. First announce that we have information on Yang Tian's background and find a right price to sell to the other powers.

The other person was taken aback, wasn't this information very important. How could they casually sell it?

The darkly dressed man seemingly understood what the other person thought and responded:

- According to this information, Yang Tian said that this wasn't a big secret. He wanted to announce his background through the Yao Clan so everyone would know either way. We might as well get some benefit out of this. I'm sure a lot of people would want to know this information.

- The Sect Leader is wise, this subordinate would be right on it.

The darkly dressed man called out another person and gave him a crystal.

- Give Mei-er this, she'll know what to do.

Looking at his two subordinates departing, the darkly dressed man said solemnly:

- I hope you don't interfere with my plans. If not don't blame me for being evil.
