Chapter 25 - Love Rival

Following Qin Zheng into the house, Yang Tian saw that Qin Xue was sitting opposite of Li Xiang. The guy was constantly bragging and Qin Xue seemed to be enduring it. She turned joyful when Yang Tian walked in.

- Yang Tian, you are here.

Yang Tian smiled and nodded, then came and sit next to Qin Xue. Qin Xue was startled, this was her father's seat and he hated people sitting in it. She looked at Qin Zheng and upon seeing his still smiling face and his willingness to sat at the opposite seat, breathed a sigh of relief.

Qin Xue was a smart person and she felt immediately that something was wrong. Her father went and personally greeted Yang Tian, he was even smiling when Yang Tian took his seat. Even Li Xiang who was the young master of the Li Clan didn't receive this treatment. This made Yang Tian's position immensely high. At least it wouldn't lose to the Li Clan. One must know that the Li Clan is one of the three greatest clan in the country and was even a bit more powerful than the Qin Clan.

While she was looking at Yang Tian suspiciously, the man himself was oblivious and happily said:

- Xue-er, I want to meet you today to give you a gift.

Qin Xue was also happy:

- Who's your Xue-er? So what do you have for me.

Not waiting for Yang Tian to answer, Li Xiang cut in:

- Xue-er, I also have a gift for you.

Qin Xue looked annoyed:

- Young master Li, please call me Qin Xue, I am not your Xue-er.

She really disliked this person. He had visited her a couple of times and the only thing he did was boasting about his wealthy clan. In her eyes, he's just a silk pant young master.

 Li Xiang's face changed. It was fine when Yang Tian called her that but he was scolded the moment he did the same so something is going on. He was her official fiance after all.

- Xue-er, I'm your fiance. You can't embarrass me in front of a stranger.

Qin Zheng was calm, he resolved to let Yang Tian handle this. After all, with his strength and background, this is only a small matter. Qin Xue was incensed:

- Who's your fiance? I never consented to the engagement in the first place. Beside my father has already broken it off.

After that she looked at Yang Tian, worrying that he might misunderstood. Yang Tian didn't say anything, waiting for the right time to deliver the "final blow". He didn't want the other person to bother Qin Xue anymore.

Li Xiang was very uncomfortable and looked at Qin Zheng:

- Uncle Qin, I'm also here for this matter. Are you really breaking off the engagement?

Qin Zheng was calm:

- Yes, our clan have also informed your clan of this matter. I won't explain it further to you.

Li Xiang couldn't hold it in any more. Qin Xue and his engagement has been decided long ago and he truly liked her. He asked in a low voice while looking at Yang Tian:

- Is it because of him?

Qin Zheng didn't say anything and looked at Yang Tian. Seeing his chance, Yang Tian said:

- That's right, Xue-er is mine. Whether it is you or the Li Clan, I'd advise you to cease you intentions with her. If not, don't blame me for being evil.

Qin Xue blushed profusedly and thought: "Bah, who's your Xue-er". However she knew that Yang Tian was helping her so she didn't refuted it. Then she thought whether or not her engagement abolishment was truly due to Yang Tian.

Li Xiang said loudly:

- Brat, I'll give the chance to retract that statement. If you bowed and apologize, I would give Xue-er face and forgive you. You don't even know how powerful the Li Clan is.

Yang Tian sneered:

- Although I don't know how powerful you Li Clan is, but I know you are a cripple who can't cultivate. Even your two bodyguards are only Human stage Martial Artists. It seems your position in your clan is not very good.

Li Xiang's hands bawled into a fist. Yang Tian had touched on his weak point, he had an older brother who was a genius but he himself couldn't cultivate. Although he was in the main branch, his position wasn't high. He had used what his position had to established a marital relationship with Qin Clan. If the engagement was called off, his position in the clan would also dropped. He might even be pushed to the branch family to do business.

- So let me show a bit of the Li Clan's power.

He immediately punched forward towards Yang Tian's face. Although he couldn't cultivate, he still practiced martial arts since he was young and his martial cultivation have reached middle Human stage. Qin Xue saw Li Xiang's sneak attack and shouted:

- Yang Tian, watch out.

Yang Tian was calm, his fingers flicked a strand of spiritual qi towards Li Xiang's chest. Li Xiang felt a sharp pain in his chest and fell down clutching it. The two guards saw what happened from the distance and rushed forward and asked with a shaken tone:

- What have you done to our young master?

Yang Tian waved his hands:

- Bring him home and tell the Li Clan if they wanted to save him, come and apologize to me.

The two guards were shaken, their cultivation didn't differ from Li Xiang very much so they had no though of retaliation. They immediately brought Li Xiang out. Yang Tian turned and looked at Qin Xue:

- It's fine, he basically wasn't a threat to me. Were you worried for me?

Qin Xue "huffed" and said:

- Who was worried for you?

Yang Tian smiled and sat down. He then gave her a simple looking pearl bracelet:

- This is my gift to you, though it's not much, it's a gift given from my heart. I hope you would treasure it.

Qin Xue took the bracelet with a happy face:

- Don't worry, I'll take good care of it.

Qin Zheng suddenly said:

- Xue-er, your mother was looking for you earlier, you should go and see her.

Qin Xue knew that her father was trying to make her leave to have a private talk with Yang Tian. She didn't say another word and a maid took her inside.

After she left, Qin Zheng looked at Yang Tian:

- Was that a spiritual treasure?

Yang Tian was surprised, although the bracelet was a far higher grade than a spiritual treasure, but the fact the Qin Zheng was able to see something special in it was not bad. After all, he was only a regular person.

- I'm surprised you were able to recognize it.

- I can't cultivate but I have some skills in examining items. The bracelet looks mundane but I felt something special from it.

Qin Zheng was trying to keep calm but he was very nervous as he was only guessing. As for spiritual treasure, the entire Qin Clan on had one or two. Yang Tian just casually gave Qin Xue one, how wealthy was he?

Yang Tian said:

- Don't tell me that's all you wanted to talk to me about?

- The previous situation...

Yang Tian crossed his hands:

- I purposefully let the Li Clan target me. After all this situation was because of me. I won't let you Qin Clan get implicated.

Qin Zheng was overjoyed, it looks like Yang Tian was a stand up person. He continued:

- We found who poisoned Yue-er.

Yang Tian had a solemn look:

- It took more than a month for you guys to find out, the speed of the Qin Clan is a bit slow. So who was it?

- It was one of three great clans, the Huang Clan. I'm guessing they wanted to stop the Qin Clan from getting close to the Li Clan.

- Three great clans?

Qin Zheng was surprised that Yang Tian didn't know of the three great clans. However with the powers behind him, he truly didn't need to care for the three great clans. Qin Zheng explained:

- These are three greatest clans in the country, they include: Our Qin Clan, the Huang Clan and Li Clan. The Li Clan is the strongest while our Qin Clan is the weakest. The three clans held power second only to the government and we have massive military as well economic powers.

Yang Tian solemnly said:

- It doesn't matter who they are, if they dared poison Yue-er then they'll pay.

Yang Tian wasn't about to wipe out the Huang Clan. For every debtor there's a debtee and he wasn't about to involve innocent bystanders. As for the principle: "Complete extermination to prevent future consequences", Yang Tian didn't care for it. Why would he be afraid of them taking vengeance. Even the Devil Sect, Heavenly Mountain Sacred Peak were much stronger than the Li Clan or Huang Clan and he didn't even put them in his eyes.

Setting all that aside, he looked at Qin Zheng:

- You should find out all information about the perpetrator and I'll handle them. Today I'm here for something more important.
