Chapter 137 - Great Game

As Yang Tian was about to pounce on the boar, he saw Li Xiang and Zhao Wu Xin standing nearby.  Li Xiang was exhausting his conversational abilities and made Zhao Wu Xin constantly smiled and chuckled.  Yang Tian didn't feel any jealousy however. He wasn't so bored as to be jealous of a dead man.

That being said, Yang Tian still approached them to try to throw a wrench into the cogwheel:

- Ah, instructor Zhao and Li Xiang. I didn't see you there.

Zhao Wu Xin saw Yang Tian and her face frozed for a bit before smiling and nodding:

- Yang Tian, I didn't know that you are also in this field trip.

- With Li Xiang so generously sponsoring, how could I resist a free trip?

Li Xiang knew that Yang Tian was being sarcastic but he still maintained his smile:

- It's nothing much. Students are the pillars of our nation. Me providing you guys with entertainment is just par for the course.

- That's right, we must thank you for organizing such a marvelous trip.

Zhao Wu Xin frowned. These two seemed very amicable yet she felt that were animosity between them. She was about to divert the conversation before Yang Tian quickly said:

- Li Xiang, I hope your plan succeeds. I am really looking forward to it.

As he said that, Yang Tian left. Zhao Wu Xin was still confused by the whole situation and turned to Li Xiang:

- You two know each other?

Li Xiang retracted his hateful gaze and nodded:

- We've met before but out relationship isn't very good. I'm pretty sure he despises me.

- I'm sure it's just a small misunderstanding. I think Yang Tian is a very nice person. He has helped me on numerous occasion.

- Is that so?

Hearing Zhao Wu Xin putting in good words for Yang Tian, the hatefulness inside Li Xiang grew stronger. As he thought about what was going to happen to Yang Tian in the near future, he became much more relaxed: "The more people that cared for you, the more joy I'll feel when I see you and them suffer".

Yang Tian was just trying to provoke Li Xiang to see what he'll do. If he couldn't contain himself then it will the best outcome. Yang Tian would use that excuse and take care him once and for all. It was a shame that guy was still able to hold back. Yang Tian would still have to wait for a little while longer.

As he walked by the table, Yang Tian conveniently took the entire roasted boar on the table and then returned to Mu Wu Han. He picked a place near where they sitting and laid out a big blanket. He then took out all the food, the eating utensils and then even the boar. After that, Yang Tian called everyone to join in on the feast.

At that moment, Mu Wu Han was bright red. She was looking down on the ground and tried to bear all the assault from her friends. Seeing Yang Tian returned, she felt that someone had just thrown a lifeline for her and yelled out:

- The food is here, let's eat.

Hearing that the food had arrived, the female students stopped teasing Mu Wu Han. After all, it was getting late and everyone was getting hungry. Seeing all the food laid out on the blanket, everyone cheered:

- Yang Tian, we didn't think that you'd do such a good job. You brought back all this food in such a short amount of time.

- This is great. Wu Han, look at this. If he's as good as he is now later on then you won't have to worry about being hungry.

- Woah, is this a whole roasted boar? How did you get this? I heard that this was made exclusively for the teachers.

Yang Tian didn't know anything about that but even if he did know, he wouldn't have cared. If anything happened, he would just let Li Xiang handle it.

- It's getting late, dig in everyone. The game is almost about to begin.

Everyone then focused on their food. Because of Yang Tian's presence, they were all trying to eat as ladylike as possible. Yang Tian, on the other hand, had no such inclination. After splitting the boar up and giving them their portion, Yang Tian crushed more than half of the boar. Under the women's surprised gazes, Yang Tian finished half the boar and then proceeded to devour the rest of the food.

One of the female student patted Mu Wu Han on the should and whispered:

- I take back what I said. Wu Han, you must think about this carefully. Look at how much he eats. After you guys get married, any money that you guys bring in, he'll eat it all.

Yang Tian, who was drinking some water, almost spat out everything. He only ate a little bit and they already said those things about him. If they knew about the thousand dollars meal that he ate before, who knows what they'll think.

After the meal, everyone was relaxing before another announcement rang out:

- Everyone gather at the main campfire, we will have drawing to see who pairs up with who.

Yang Tian looked at Mu Wu Han:

- Drawing?

- That's right. This is a chance for students to get to know each other. Did you think that we would get to pick our pair?

- Do you not want to go with me?

- I...

Seeing Mu Wu Han acted shyly and unable to answer, Yang Tian chuckled:

- Don't worry, we will definitely be matched together.

Mu Wu Han thought that Yang Tian was only sayin that. After all, many students do that. With so many people, picking the right name was not an easy task.

Her thinking wasn't wrong but that was only true for normal people. For someone with spiritual sense like Yang Tian, this was a walk in the park.

After waiting for Mu Wu Han to pick, Yang Tian asked:

- What number did you get?

Mu Wu Han looked down on the piece of paper in her hand:

- 93.

- Wait for me.

As he said that, Yang Tian approached the drawing box, pushing away anyone in his way. His spiritual sense honed in on the number 93 to no avail. It seemed someone had already gotten the number before him. Yang Tian's immediately covered every single student present and quickly found the person with number 93.

After picking a random number from the box, Yang Tian swapped for number 93 in a blink of an eye. He then returned next to Mu Wu Han:

- Look at this, I also have 93. We are truly fated.

Mu Wu Han saw the number in Yang Tian's hand and couldn't help but be surprised:

- How did you get it?

- I've told you once before, this is Heaven's will. You are destined to be my partner.

The word "partner" also have a double meaning. It could be partner in this game or a couple. This time Yang Tian was a bit wiser and he intentionally meant the second meaning. Mu Wu Han turned around, trying to hide her smile.

After the drawing was complete, each pair participated in the game. When it was about to be Yang Tian's and Mu Wu Han's turn, he turned to ask her:

- Are you afraid of ghost?

Mu Wu Han was a bit uncomfortable:

- A little bit.

- Let's do it like this, hold on to my hand. If anyone jumps out and scare you, you can then hold on to me. I'll give you some courage.

- Humph, you'd like that won't you.

Although Mu Wu Han was adamant at first, she couldn't get over her fears. Whenever someone popped out to scare them, she immediately embraced Yang Tian, burying her head in his chest. Of course Yang Tian took full advantage of this to enjoy having a beauty in his embrace. He even gave a thumbs up for the person pretending to be a ghost:

- Not bad, your acting is very good. You should be an actor in the future.

The "ghost" was taken aback. He was trying scare people and here was a guy giving him a thumbs up. However after seeing Mu Wu Han holding on to Yang Tian tightly, the brother finally understood and also gave Yang Tian a thumbs up.

The first part of the trail ended in Yang Tian's joy. Mu Wu Han had held on to him tighly from start to finish, not daring to opened her eyes. Yang Tian "lamented" that he couldn't resist her so the only thing he could do was to enjoy it. He held on to her tightly the entirety of the trail. At the end of the trail, they saw a cellar that had already been decorated and prepared beforehand. There were many pairs already waiting in front of it.

In front of the cellar was one of the "ghost" with an instruction sign:

- To continue on your journey, you must give the treasure to the guide. The treasure is hidden inside the haunted cellar. 

Yang Tian signaled for Mu Wu Han to let him go and pointed to the cellar:

- How about it? Should we head down there?

Mu Wu Han looked around and saw many people hesitant about going down there. She was a bit more at ease with so many people here and shook her head:

- No need, you can just go down there and it yourself.

Yang Tian felt that it was a shame but agreed in the end:

- Fine, wait here for me.

Chapter 136 - Campfire

Yang Tian decided not to explore further and returned to the camp. This was Li Xiang’s last play, he should let him perform it until the end. Yang Tian had never seen Li Xiang as an opponent in the first place. He was at best a sideshow amusement.

Continuing his walk in the forest, Yang Tian didn’t return until it was dark outside. At this time, all the tents had been set up and there was a large campfire ready to be lit. Li Pan saw Yang Tian returning and waved to him:

- Yang Tian, over here.

Yang Tian approached and sat down. Li Pan looked left and right carefully before saying:

- I was just at the teacher’s tent and I overheard a secret.

Hearing Li Pan’s secretive voice, Yang Tian felt that it was probably not anything good. He was a bit excited by this.

- Well, spill it out.

- I’ve heard that there will be a big game organized tonight. We will be gathered at the main tent to dine and sing and dance. Then students will be divided into pair to go into the forest along designated path.

Yang Tian’s enthusiasm was immediately extinguished. This was just some child’s play, what’s so interesting about it? Li Pan saw Yang Tian’s disinterest and then added:

- I’ve heard that the sponsor of this trip, meaning Li Xiang, would also be attending.

- You mean to say that he has intention on Mu Wu Han?

- Not at all. With his position, he’ll probably pair up with another teacher. I’m guessing that his target is Instructor Zhao Wu Xin.

If Li Xiang actually did something like that then Yang Tian had no clue what he was up to.

- Panzi, take a guess at what this Li Xiang’s scheme is.

- Maybe he feels that he has no hope with Mu Wu Han so he’s switching his target to instructor Zhao Wu Xin.

Yang Tian shook his head:

- Everything isn’t so simple. Li Xiang came to me before the trip to announce that he will confess to Mu Wu Han during this trip. That was why I let him live a bit longer.

This time, it was Li Pan’s turn to be confuse:

- If he has intention on Mu Wu Han, why did you spare him?

- You really are a bit dull. Since he didn’t something like that, he’s obviously aiming at me. If an ant is dancing in your palm, would you kill it immediately or would you let it keep dancing?

Li Pan finally understood that from the beginning, Yang Tian only saw Li Xiang as entertainment. The feeling of a higher being looking down on the masses was not something Li Pan was familiar with but it was something he could understand.

- If it’s like that then let us watch his performance.

- At the end of the day, you are the only one who gets me.

The two continued to chat for while until a teacher spoke loudly through a loudspeaker:

- Listen up students, quickly light up your campfire and then assemble at the main camp area. We will have dinner and then play a little game.

Everyone heard the announcement and subsequently poured gas over their campfires and lit them up. Afterwards they headed to the main campsite to join in on the party. Li Pan tried to find Yang Tian afterwards but he was no where to be seen. Throwing the stick in his hand down on the ground, Li Pan angrily said:

- That damn skirt-chaser, valuing women over friends. He must've gone off to find Mu Wu Han.

Li Pan wasn't wrong. At this moment, Yang Tian was in front of Mu Wu Han's campsite speaking to a female student:

- Can you call Mu Wu Han out here for me? Just tell her that Yang Tian is looking for her.

The student was a bit afraid of Yang Tian and quickly nodded her head before rushing inside. Yang Tian was taken aback:

- Do I look that frightening? That's not possible, I am the definition of handsome and gallant. Misunderstanding, it must be some sort of misunderstanding.

When Yang Tian was stroking his own ego, Mu Wu Han was already out:

- What are you doing here?

Upon seeing Mu Wu Han, Yang Tian immediately thew all that happened away:

- I want to invite you for dinner at the main camp.

Mu Wu Han nodded:

- Alright, let's go.

The two walked towards the main came with each other. Because of the large number of students participating, the school didn't manage to prepare enough seat. Many students knew this and deliberately cane early to get a seat. Yang Tian turned to Mu Wu Han:

- Wait here for me.

As he said that, Yang Tian rush into the crowd. Since there were so many people, no one noticed as Yang Tian disappeared. He appeared moments later with a stack of chairs in hand. Yang Tian didn't plan on getting so many chairs but they were all in large stacks so he just grabbed a stack without thinking.

Bringing the stack in front of Mu Wu Han, she couldn't help but be wide eyes:

- Why did you get so man chairs? Are you getting chairs for the entire class?

- Nothing like that, it was there in a stack so I grabbed it. We can take two and the dump the rest wherever.

At this moment, a voice rang out from behind Mu Wu Han:

- Wu Han, you are here already? No wonder we couldn't find you anywhere.

Hearing the voice, Mu Wu Han turned around and saw a group of female students approaching. Yang Tian also approached and asked:

- They are?

- They are my classmates.

Yang Tian turned around with a friendly smile:

- Hello everyone, I am Yang Tian, pleasure to meet you all. Oh right, I already chairs for everyone so come and sit down.

When they saw Yang Tian, the female students were a bit worried. But after seeing him so friendly, everyone calmed down. After all, the stuff about him were only rumors. Yang Tian subsequently distributed the chairs to everyone. As they sat down, a brave student asked Yang Tian:

- Yang Tian, are you Wu Han's secret boyfriend?

- Secret boyfriend?

- That's right. If you don't know, Wu Han and I went to high school with each other and she refused to get close to any man. We all guessed that she had someone in her heart and that she was keeping it a secret.

Yang Tian shook his head:

- Well that's not me then. Wu Han and I only just met each other this year.

- Met each other?

Meeting someone could be understood in many ways. It could be that two person actually just met or it could be they are officially together. In this instance, everyone chose to go with the second meaning. Mu Wu Han's face was bright red and she lightly twisted Yang Tian's hip:

- What nonsense are you saying.

- I'm not saying any nonsense. We really just met each other this year.

Yang Tian didn't have any hidden intent. To be more precises, he didn't understand the double meaning of the phrase. The surrounding female students laughed out and someone grabbed Mu Wu Han's arm:

- Wu Han, how long are you planning to hide it from us. Tell us everything.

Another student grabbed Mu Wu Han's other arm:

- That's right, spill it. Our Madonna finally have someone. Who knows how many men in our school will silently cry out.

Mu Wu Han's face was now beet red and she was at a loss for words. Yang Tian also felt that they misunderstood his words and tried to explain:

- You misunderstood me, I meant...

Without waiting for him to finish, the girls stopped him:

- This is between us women, men shouldn't be involve.

- That's right. The dinner is starting, be a good man and go get some food.

...

Yang Tian was at a loss for words. What's with the sudden change in attitude? Weren't they so welcoming to him before? Now they made an 180 turn. Women are indecipherable creatures indeed.

Even though that was his thoughts, Yang Tian still stood up to get some food. He was planning to get food for Mu Wu Han anyways so it wasn't a big deal to grab some more portions.

Li Xiang was very thorough in sponsoring this trup. He invited a chef from a big restaurant to cater for the school. Large tables filled with delicious food were set up. The most eye catching thing was a large roasted boar served on a platter.

It's go big or go home, Yang Tian quickly grabbed all the best dishes. After getting all the eating utensils and different dishes into his storage space, he eyed the boar:

- Now it's your turn.

Chapter 135 - The Thug and Young Tyrant

The answer was clearly bogus and Mu Wu Han didn’t buy it but she didn’t ask further. She was a smart and tactful woman, she knew that everyone had their own secrets. Yang Tian still though that he’d fool her and the was inwardly pleased with his Wind Slicing Technique. (T/N: I've talked about this a while back but it's basically a slang for bullshitting)

After a while, the bus was filling up with people. A made student wearing a t-shirt with a tiger tattoo on his arms approached Yang Tian’s seat:

- Hey, this is my seat. Can you get up?

The surrounding students saw that and quickly spoke amongst themselves:

- Ah, our very own thug is picking a fight with the Young Tyrant. Now there’s something interesting to see.

- Right, who do you think is gonna win? I think it’s going to be the Young Tyrant. Even the cops can’t do anything to him.

- What do you know? That guy’s father is a boss of an underworld gang. I heard they are also affiliated with an even larger organization. His strength and backing must be strong. Young Tyrant at most have some backing. If they get into a fight, he wouldn’t even be a match.

The thug and the Young Tyrant, everyone used their nickname to call them and not their real name. They might not even know Yang Tian’s real name.

Yang Tian looked up at the male student and let out a long yawn. He had always been the one bullying other people. Now there was someone that was trying to bully him. The saying was true, if you are too nice, people will look down on you.

- Scram.

The male student still maintained his smile:

- Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider?

Yang Tian decided to ignore him. After all, he was with Mu Wu Han so he shouldn’t do anything that would frighten her. Seeing Yang Tian ignoring him, the smile on the student’s face froze.

- You forced my hands. I didn’t want to be violent in front of Wu Han in the first place.

As he said that, he tried to grab Yang Tian’s shoulder. When his hand was inches away from Yang Tian, the male student suddenly yelled out. His entire body collapsed on the floor and he was curled up like a shrimp. He was clutching his hand and screaming hoarsely.

Mu Wu Han looked at Yang Tian with wide eyes:

- What are you doing? You shouldn’t have been so heavy handed. He is still my classmate.

She was dead sure that this was Yang Tian’s doing. He was very strong, this was something that Mu Wu Han never doubted. Because of this, when the male student came looking for trouble with Yang Tian, she didn’t paid much attention to it.

Yang Tian made an innocent face:

- That wasn’t me. Look, everyone can be my witness. My hands have not move from this position. Maybe he has some sort of weird disease and it just happens to act up now.

Knowing that Yang Tian wouldn’t be caught dead admitting it, Mu Wu Han didn’t force him. Hearing the scream, the teachers quickly arrived. Seeing the male student on the ground screaming out, they asked the surrounding people:

- Do you know what happened to him?

The group of students all shook their head. They didn’t see Yang Tian do anything so they could only go with guess of some illness acting up. After not getting any clear answers, the teachers could only wait for medical staff to bring the male student away. When he was put on a stretcher, his arm was finally revealed. It looked withered from elbow to the palm. The male student had long pass his limit and passed out.

Yang Tian deliberately obstruct Mu Wu Han’s vision from this scene. If not he wouldn’t even know how to explain this to her.

After a while, when all the chatters died down a bit, a teacher got on the bus and began a roll call. After checking the list and recounting the number of people, the teacher asked:

- There’s one more person here than in the list. Is any of you on the wrong bus?

Yang Tian knew that this about him so he stood up:

- It’s me, my bus was already full and I heard that this one has an extra seat so I came here.

The teacher adjusted her glasses and looked at him:

- You are?

- My name is Yang Tian.

She remembered there was someone in the special student list named Yang Tian. This list was established by the university for the teachers to know which student have big background. They were in school only for the fun of it and as long as they don’t violate the law, there was no need to pick a fight with them.

- Yang Tian? Sophomore in the Finance major?

- That’s right.

- Alright, just stay where you are and I’ll tell your teacher that you are here.

Yang Tian turned to Mu Wu Han with a grin. She only gave him a glance:

- It seems that you are still hiding a lot from me. If you are simple an orphan without any familial background, even if you opened your own company, how could you make everyone so wary of you.

- So it’ this matter. I’ll tell you in due time. However what I told you before was the truth, it’s just that it was only a part of it. Everything I have right now was made by my hands.

Yang Tian didn’t lie, his parents and all of his relatives were killed more than a thousand years ago. Everything he has today was built with his own hard work. Yang Tian and Mu Wu Han chatted merrily in spite of all the jealous and annoyed gaze directed at them from all directions.

The location for their field trip this time was the foot of a mountain near Bei Jiang City. Since the number of participating students were so high, the school couldn’t go anywhere too far. After arriving at the place, Yang Tian had to returned to his class to set up camp. Before he left, he gave Mu Wu Han the stack of pictures that he robbed from Li Pan. Mu Wu Han received the photos and her cheeks slightly reddened:

- Where did you get these photos?

- I took them myself. What do you think, are they good? I spent a lot of time touching them up to give it to you.

Yang Tian’s shamelessness was at a max here. If Li Pan was here, he would have cried a river. This guy not only took his stuff, he also stole all the credit.

Yang Tian didn’t feel any shame doing something like this. If you are going after a woman without any stratagem, you are bound to be forever alone.

As expected, Mu Wu Han smiled happily. Under surprised gaze of everyone, she tiptoed up and gave Yang Tian a kiss on the cheek before running away. Yang Tian rubbed his cheek, and looked at the departing Mu Wu Han with a smile. This was a great success.

Yang Tian then returned to his class for a roll call. After that, he and Li Pan was assigned to find some firewood for the campfire. Yang Tian had no interest in this type of brainless menial job so everything was all on Li Pan.

- Panzi, go and get the wood. I’m going for a stroll.

- No way, this is something that’s assigned to the both of us. I can’t do it all alone.

Yang Tian then produced several large value banknotes and gave it to Li Pan. Immediately the dishonest merchant in Li Pan came out:

- Of course, we are good brothers. If you are busy then just go on ahead. I’ll get the firewood in your place.

Seeing Li Pan’s greed, Yang Tian shook his head. For better or for worse, he was already back at the Li Clan. He’s now a young master of the Li Clan and he shouldn’t have sullied their image for some cash.

Yang Tian didn’t know that although Li Pan had returned to the Li Clan, since he still couldn’t cultivate, he still belonged to the outer clan. The only thing he could do is manage the clan’s wealth and businesses. However since he hadn’t graduate yet, the Li Clan couldn’t possibly let him manage any of the businesses or the money. Because of this, although Li Pan isn’t as poor as before, he wasn’t in any way rich. Not only that, Li Wu was a young miss of the Li Clan and she was used to living in luxury so Li Pan had to save up a lot for all of their expenses.

Putting Li Pan’s story aside, Yang Tian was going on a walk. His main goal was to see what Li Xiang was up to. After circling around the mountain, Yang Tian detected a cave carefully hidden behind tree branches and vines. Using his spiritual sense to explore inside, Yang Tian saw a large steel gate. Behind it were two people with guns guarding the place:

- It seems that he had a detailed plan in place.
